A very disapointing experience in this restaurant. Its allowed to smoke inside. We wanted to go with our pram indoor as it was a bit fresher than outside (30 degres) so we went for a seat on the terrace. We were able to put the stroller so we did not block the pedestrians, thankfully the table behind us were respectfull enough not to smoke during this time. Neverless they had their car running for more than 30 min next to us. We gave our orders, and the waiter asked us if we wanted bread which we refused. After waiting 40 min they finaly brough the salad and bread. No plates or cutlery. We waited another 20 minutes before we finally got our plates. Terrible, the cheese was not melted… and the inside of the Konoba Opanak was raw. The potates were cold. I did not touch the food as I did not want to get sick due to not properly cooked meat (travelling with a baby). We had to get the cutlery ourselves, as the waiter did not bring us any. I found some at the entrance. There was no changing tables for our little one, so we had to change her on our table. When we paid, the bread was charged extra, which we said we would not pay as we have never ordered it. Then he complained that we did not want to leave any service fee. We told the waiter that the service we recived was unacceptable. Avoid this place if you don’t want your evening dinner to spoiled by bad quality food and service. Very dispointing for our first evening...
Read moreA terrible experience all round. Rude and imconsiderate staff and terrible food.
We visited this place on 24 December 2024. We were looking forward to enjoying some traditional Serbian food over lunch. When we arrived, we made it clear that we wanted to sit in the non-smoking area and the staff told us that this was possible. First, they led us into the non-smoking area but then saw that there was a large group coming in so without any apology ushered us into a smoking area. When we asked why we were in the smoking area, they told us that there was no space, which was a clear lie. When we picked up our things and wanted to leave they found us at least 5 free tables in the non-smoking area. After being ignored by the waiters for 10 minutes, we finally managed to order some mulled wine and get a menu. They brought us mulled wine which was definitely off, and then started bringing ash trays and handing them to everyone in the area. When we again said that we wanted to be in a non-smoking area and pointed at the non-smoking sign on our table, they told us that there was no non-smoking area in the restaurant which is very likely a breach of Serbian regulations. A terrible time, and we would...
Read moreUpdate 2024: After my last visit at the new location, I have to update my review. It looks like they did not just change the location, but also their cook. The menu lost some of my favorite items and the other meals we tried ranged from subpar to fine. It is a shame, Konoba Akustik was my favorite Serbian restaurant and it would always be on the list of places to visit during my Serbia visits. But not any longer.
The atmosphere is still nice and the waiters are friendly. But the quality of food is more important than the rest and it is at best average now.
Old Review: Great restaurant. pleasant atmosphere (classic Serbian ambience), great food (10/10, Serbian cuisine means great taste and big meal sizes), great drinks (we tried beer & wine). Our waitress spoke perfect English and was very friendly, the menu is Serbian and English, a great place...
