June Café is yet another hipster-style spot in Belgrade – nicely packaged in industrial aesthetics, but lacking real substance. The interior looks appealing at first glance, but often feels uncomfortable and more suited for Instagram than for actually spending time there.
The food leans into comfort fusion – decent at max. It tries hard to be special, but ends up being average and identity-less. Service is hit-or-miss, the music can be annoying , and overall the vibe feels like fashion that’s already gone out of style – there’s no real reason to wear it anymore, but somehow, it’s still hanging on.
Perhaps the most peculiar element is the wine list – a selection of eccentric natural wines that are expensive, strange, and often just not good. There’s a marketing logic at play: if it’s pricey and unpleasant, it must be special. Surprisingly, that mindset still works – and there are indeed people willing to pay just to be part of that narrative.
The café is almost always busy, largely thanks to the steady crowd from the local Russian community living in Dorćol. If you’re nearby and not expecting much, it might do the job. But if you're looking for clarity, consistency, or real quality –...
Read moreI can say with confidence that both the organization of the service and the quality of the food were at the highest level during my visit. The freshest products, hygiene, attention, everything fully complies with the stated standard, that is, at a high level, I recommend this place with peace of mind. And what is especially nice is that there is no smoke here. Prices are standard, no higher than similar offers of a given level.
P.S. A little background. When some European countries, for example, in Italy, introduced restrictions on smoking in public places, this received a lively response in the restaurant business of the Russian Federation. And we began to zone the premises into halls for smokers and for non-smokers. Which is especially nice for people not involved in passive smoking and for children) Of course, a person has the right to smoke if he wants. But a person also has the right not to experience discomfort from excess nicotine in the air. Therefore, it is nice that there are places where there is no smoke screen. Well done guys, a good team, good luck!!! And...

… and it is! You will love June. Went there for a brunch. The place is so nicely put together. Chic, stylish and super comfy. Menu is simple but delish with few soviet origin surprises that are must have. Like V60 :)
Staff jackpot is an extra plus to the experience.
The only miner issue is this: when you get in front of the establishment , the host immediately acknowledges your presence and takes care that you have been seated in proper manner. Which is a plus. However, the minus is that other ppl who are waiting to be seated are allowed to wait inside od the restaurant, eyeballing you whilst consummation. Which is kind of awkward and gross.
Obvi, host cannot teach them restaurant etiquette but most certainly can ask them politely to wait outside with others in waiting.
Otherwise, June is a dream!
Not vegan friendly, but can get vegetarian variation of some menu...
