Brunching in Belgrade - A Delicious Surprise!
Oh, the joys of finding a hidden gem through a simple Google search! My quest for the perfect brunch spot led me to stumble upon this little culinary treasure in Belgrade. Intrigued by the mouthwatering pictures, my friends and I decided to give it a go. Little did we know that we were about to embark on a gastronomic adventure like no other!
As we approached the restaurant, our excitement quickly turned into disbelief. There it was, a queue of eager brunch enthusiasts stretching down the street. Determined to satisfy our cravings, we joined the patient line and eagerly anticipated our turn. After approximately 35 minutes (which felt like an eternity on an empty stomach), we finally found ourselves seated.
The menu tempted us with an array of delectable options, but we settled on the brioche with salmon and creamy eggs, avocado toast, bulgur with avocado, salad, and of course, cappuccino to kickstart our morning. And let me tell you, dear reader, we were in for a treat!
Now, brace yourself for the twist in this tale of flavorsome surprises. The bulgur, oh my goodness, the bulgur! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect such a humble grain to pack such a punch. But this dish, adorned with goat cheese that danced harmoniously on my tongue, had me weak at the knees. Truly, a match made in culinary heaven.
The salad, dressed to perfection, tantalized our taste buds with every bite. It was so expertly seasoned that not even a pinch of salt was needed. Kudos to the chefs behind these delightful creations! We couldn't help but shower them with compliments for their culinary prowess.
And let's not forget the cappuccino that accompanied our brunch extravaganza. Oh, what a delight it was! Creamy, velvety, and topped with a perfect swirl of foam, it brought a comforting warmth to our palates.
In conclusion, this brunch experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Yes, the wait may have been a little longer than expected, but trust me when I say it was well worth it. The food was a symphony of flavors, leaving us with satisfied hearts and contented bellies. If you're a brunch enthusiast searching for a memorable experience, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Just be prepared to endure the tantalizing anticipation. Bon appétit and...
Read moreMy initial rating was 5 stars, because I think this is a place with great food and good prices, in comparison to other similar places and also smoke-free. However, after ordering take-out and receiving very moldy avocado, I will certainly not be eating any dish with avocado here (and I can't help but doubt the freshness of the produce in general and the willingness of the employees to serve acceptable meals).
I understand that, considering the way avocado is sliced, the one who makes this meal can't inspect every inch of every slice, but it is clear that moldy parts were next to the seed and therefore definitely visible before slicing (and mold usually is somewhere near the seed or the outer edge). This moldy quarter or maybe half an avocado costs 170 din (approx. 1.5eur).
Edit (since the owner replied): No, there wasn't enough time for so much oxidation to take place, I live 3 minutes away from Bloom. Also, for the oxidation to take place, food has to actually be in contact with oxygen from the air. These slices were closely stacked and below them was the rest of the food. Besides, I have eaten avocado at home before (as probably most of the people who eat here have). Avocado oxidises uniformly, not in this spotty way.
Considering (again) that I've eaten avocado that I bought myself, I know that often stores sell avocado that is already like this one on the picture and it's not really easy to notice that on the outside. I would agree that price is fair, but only if that price includes taking care about stuff like this (trying not to buy overripe avocado and if you do, and it looks like this when you slice it, maybe don't serve it or at least cut out the moldy parts).
Anyway, I do like this place in many ways, I've had some delicious dishes here (although they didn't include avocado), I do think prices are great, I've already recommended this place to my friends. I will probably eat here again, but I will stick to the things I know are good. The reason I'm posting this review is because I think this should be something employees should handle differently. Thank you for your answer...
Read moreA pregnant woman thrown out of somewhere? Possible in Bloom. I saw 4 people waiting outside in a queue and 4 tables free inside so I guessed they were waiting for takeaway orders as the place is so small, otherwise, why are the tables empty? I went in and sit in an empty chair, the waiter came and said to ME, not to my husband, as I was the only one sitting: Get out and wait in a queue. (I am 9 months pregnant and few days away from my due date and it shows). I didn't respond as I was standing up in shock. There were no manners whatsover. I don't think anyone outside would be mad that a pregnant woman is waiting for her spot inside under airconditioning when it's 35 degrees, rather than outside. It really shows when young uneducated people from abroad open a new spot in town and it lacks manners and hospitality. I just want to note that people outside were not let inside even 10 minutes later, even after they cleaned the tables. People were still waiting outside in the sun. There were so many empty tables that we wouldn't even have to wait in a queue, after they let them in, but it was more convenient for them to throw us out so they can let us all in again when they decide. The place is also unbearably small, so I don't think the food/drinks could make up for too many tables in a very limited space. Avoid please, making a fake demand is not the way to go, hospitality is 🫶
PS: Also, please note that these people never responded to a bad review with anything but fighting with customers and more bad manners or "it's never their fault, it's always customers' fault". Tells you a lot...
