Thyme is a must-visit spot, redefining street food with a fine dining touch. It offers exceptionally creative and outstanding flavors. Their commitment to top-tier service is evident, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they earn a Michelin star in the near future.
From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable. Our waiter not only made excellent recommendations but also took the time to explain the menu in great detail. Inspired by this, we decided to order a variety of dishes to share.
For starters, we chose the gyoza, beef tartare, beetroot with raspberries and grapes, and rolls with cheese and honey. The standout among these was definitely the beef tartare. Served with salted butter and crispy bread, the combination of flavors created an entirely unique experience on the palate.
Next, we tried the shrimp & mango bun, which immediately became one of the best buns I’ve ever had. The bread was incredibly soft and fluffy, while the crispy shrimp and mango salsa inside made for a perfect harmony of textures and flavors.
For the main course, we went with the Autumn Steak. Cooked exactly to our preferred medium-rare, the meat was slightly firm, but the Bordelaise sauce and charred kale leaves elevated the dish to another level, adding depth and complexity to each bite.
This was my first time here, but I’m certain it won’t be my last. Thyme is a truly outstanding establishment, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Also they are dog friendly, we cannot happy more with...
Read moreWe had a very unpleasant experience here due to the waiter, Stefan Purnjaga. From the moment we arrived, his attitude was dismissive and unfriendly. When we asked for a table, instead of helping, he responded with a cold and unprofessional “eeh, you can sit there,” without any smile or effort to assist.
When taking our order, we clearly ordered two burgers and one bao bun. He only brought one burger and one bao, and when we pointed this out, his reaction was rude: “I didn’t hear it.” Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, he repeated the same excuse and showed no effort to make up for the mistake. For a party of three, this was unacceptable.
Later, I overheard him speaking negatively about me inside, which is extremely unprofessional behavior for any waiter. When I asked him to clear our table, he again responded rudely with “what do you want?” and did it in a harsh manner.
Overall, his lack of courtesy, responsibility, and basic respect ruined our dining experience. A waiter should provide service with at least minimal professionalism and a polite attitude, but unfortunately, Stefan failed at the most basic level.
I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they improve their staff’s behavior and respect...
Read moreThe food was good, pretty decent bao buns, juicy burgers. Not the best, but definitely very good. The interior is lovely, cosy, no smoke, with pretty looking drawings on walls.
The service is pretty weird. Especially 2 cases:
We were served with a cup of macchiato. It was ordered, but one of us who ordered it, didn't want it, as he wanted a macchiato latte and just ordered a wrong thing. It could be ok, he would order another one instead, but the waitress said that see will 'replace the coffee', and took the cup away. However, in the end we had the macchiato in the bill. Why do you take coffee away, if you charge for it anyway? There were 4 of us, somebody would have definitely drank it.
The same waitress messed up the order a bit and brought additional kimchi sauce, which nobody ordered. She said 'it will be free'. So we kept it, and she also then brought the sauce we actually ordered. Guess what? Yes, the kimchi sauce also was in the bill.
With their slogan "We're gonna make food great again" or somewhat like that, I wish you could make your service at least reasonable if not great. We left no tips, as the price of the sauce and coffee should've covered it, and most definitely not coming back. I wouldn't...
