I visit Petrus with my family (wife and two boys). Some Serbian friends advised us to visit Petrus. At the beginning we were very satisfied especially with the atmosphere the design and later with the fantastic menu. We were planning to stay in Novi Sad for seven more days for Christmas vacations and we almost ready to decide to visit Petrus every day. And then the catastrophy! We asked for the bill and we prepared to pay in Euro because this was the deal before we ordered. A nice young guy brought us the bill in Serbian Dynars. 2220 = 18.80€. I was ready to pay 20€ when another youn employe with a tattoo behind his ear told us to pay 25€! I called again the previous guy and ask also him about the ammount in euro. He replied that thsi was 20€. I gave him 20€ and suddently the guy with the tattoo came gave us back the 20€ and told us that they do not accept euro! Yes, the same guy that told us to pay 25€! I told him "ok can we pay with our credit card?" and he told us that we can't do this! I asked for the superior. Another youn guy in black came as the superior and he tried to find excuses for the other guy with the tattoo. In the end I was obliged to visit an exchange office near by and pay in dynars. It's a pity for the owners and their efforts. Good atmosphere and excellent menu is some times easier to accomplise. The personel is also important and our experience was awful. The worst personel ever. Zero...
Read moreI've been to Petrus a couple times now over the past two years while visiting family in Serbia and look forward to going again this year. But I'm "only" giving it four stars due to an extremely rude server we had on our last visit. I get that this is a hot spot in the city and is always crammed full, and so the waiters are stressed, however the way the waiter replied to my elderly mother in the most rude, condescending, and loud tone after she asked where our food was after more than 45 minutes of waiting was absolutely unacceptable. He mellowed out afterwards, but I won't forget the way he rudely shouted, so as to make a scene, when she asked such a simple question. But I realize that's him and not the restaurant, though they should somehow discipline those who are on their payroll. I would have given five stars were it not for his disgusting behaviour. The food here is fantastic- among the best I've had in all of Serbia-, and the atmosphere is lovely. All three floors are beautifully done, with the upstairs two floors being perfect for a relaxing date (if there is such a thing). Serbia is a fairly conservative place when it comes to food, so it's nice to see many of the items on the menu branching out and trying something new and different- I would say that they succeed, with all the more "out there" (relatively speaking) items being absolutely delicious. Looking forward to...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant recently during our trip to Serbia on our first day at Novi Sad. This restaurant was recommended by the Serbian colleague of one of our friend.
The restaurant is very close to TRZ Slobode, which is one of the key tourist spot. Hence, its is very easy to stop by for lunch or dinner. The restaurant decor is also classy and attractive.
We ordered chicken fillet with mushroom sauce, veggie burger, veg pizza and pasta. We also had beer and coffee here. The food was good in general the mushroom sauce was exceptionally very tasty, Its definitely a good place for vegetarians as well. We ordered 'Tiramisu' and 'Tri lece' for desert, among which we loved Tri Lece so much that went back 2 days later to have it again before leaving Novi Sad.
Our friend's young kid (2 year) was with us and they accommodate most of our requests in terms of seating, extra cutlery etc.
In summary, it's good restaurant especially for dinner for tourist and...
