Polovinom 2006. SNP je postalo član Evropske teatraske konvencije  i član Asocijacije „Pozorište bez granica”, u kojoj su i: Odsek za kulturu grada Šćećina (Poljska), Teatar „Gardonyi”, Eger (Mađarska), Teatar „Tamasi” Sv. Đorđe, (Rumunija) i Teatar „Rictus”, Nant (Francuska).

It's the oldest performing art theatre in Serbia, called Serbian National Theatre Despite of it, the actual building is a new one - it's already the third in the row. This one looks modern, but is unfortunately not a high-tech theatre. In the same building resides the Serbian National Theatre (SNP), but also the Opera, the Orchestra and the diverse Choirs of the SNP. Yesterday, there was the opening ceremony of the Music Festivities in Novi Sad The first act of the shortly discovered - unfinished - only one Opera of Franz Liszt "Sardanapalo" was introduced. It was the third presentation of this piece in it's History. Even, when the Orchestra wasn't the best one on the World, but - I must admit - it was simply amazing -...

The biggest theatre in Novi Sad, if not in Serbia as well with three theatre halls, it has its own full time orchestra, ballet and theatrical groups. Every now and then they host international festivals or plays from other theatres from different countries. Every day you can find a play or two on their repertoire. The price of individual tickets in 2018 are between 400 - 600 dinars, which is equivalent to 4-6 EUR. It is a very impressive place with impressive repertoire - from Mozart, Tchaikovsky to modern experimental place. If you are in Novi Sad, take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy world class operas, ballet and plays in one of the friendliest national theatres you've ever been to. Highly recommended! For the schedule search for SNP...

The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad is a cultural gem with a long-standing tradition and a rich, diverse repertoire. The interior is spacious and well maintained, with good acoustics and comfortable seating. I have seen many plays here, but one that left a particularly strong impression was The Cabinet Minister (Gospođa ministarka). If you enjoy Branislav Nušić’s witty satire and sharp comedy, this performance is an absolute must-see in this theater. While the building might not appear architecturally grand from the outside, the atmosphere and quality of performances inside are truly memorable.

The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad is one of the oldest and most significant cultural institutions in Serbia. It was founded in 1861 and has played a pivotal role in the development of Serbian theater and culture. The building itself is an architectural gem and it stands as a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage. Over the years, the theatre has showcased a wide array of theatrical productions, including classical plays, contemporary works, operas, and ballets, contributing immensely to the cultural life of Novi Sad and the broader region.
