Had 2 glasses of wine and was double-charged for each. When I asked about this the server rudely explained that the price on the menu is per .1L and a glass is .2L so the prices on the menu are “per unit” of wine, not per glass. We were not asked how many “units” of wine we would like per glass when we ordered and this pricing was not disclosed on the menu or by the server. No solution was provided and our server treated us like we were stupid and just snipped that they would tell the owner (who I’m sure is aware of the problem already given the several other reviews sharing the same experience.) Absolutely felt scammed. I wouldn’t have even been that mad if the food didn’t also suck - french fries were inedible due to nasty stale oil flavor. Only saving grace was the low prices which made the trick on the menu that much more irritating.
Also, make sure to bring cash as it is cash-only and all the ATM’s nearby charge exorbitant fees. I did not see this disclosed anywhere but it may have been written somewhere in Slovak which I do not speak so I can’t...
Read moreThis bar completely ruined our short trip to Bratislava! On the evening of November 25th, we ordered 3 glasses of wine, but when we asked for the bill, they charged us DOUBLE the price listed on the menu. When we pointed out the mistake, the waiter yelled at us, saying, “YOU ORDERED 2 GLASSES, I GAVE YOU 2 DOUBLE GLASSES. I POURED MORE, YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE DRUNK IT!” He even insulted me by shouting, “DON’T BE STUPID!” (If you can call me an idiot when I treat you with respect, you are the idiot and you know it!)
Instead of admitting his mistake, he continued his aggressive behavior. Only after we mentioned that we were law students did his tone change, and he reluctantly accepted the correct payment. However, the disrespect and scam attempt completely ruined our evening. If you don’t want to experience this kind of humiliation, avoid this place...
Read moreThe best meal I had during my stay in Bratislava. The food was delicious and the price was lower compared to other restaurants in the area. I ordered the slow-cooked ribs, and from the taste and tenderness you could tell it was made from very high quality meat. The waitress was super attentive and kind, and also helped me choose a beer as I wasn't familiar with the ones offered. The place itself is very nicely decorated and clean, and the music was very pleasant. If I had to describe the overall vibe of the place with one word, I'd say "cozy". Just keep in mind that payment is done by cash, and that it's not fast food so expect a 15 min wait before being served. Still, I highly recommend it and hope to be back...
