I was on holiday in Ljubljana and had heard good things about this place. The first promising sign that was true was there was a Que to get in, we had visited about 1pm on Saturday so perhaps peak time. We didn’t have to wait long and were allowed in ahead of larger groups as soon as a table for 2 became available. My partner is vegetarian so she did have a limited selection to choose from, she went for the Bosnian pie which is a pastry filled with either spinach, cheese or potatoes (meat version also available). She went for the potato one and enjoyed it. There was also red peppers marinated in paprika she could have along with baked beans and bread or a salad. As a meat eater I was spoilt for choice and went for the 5 x Cevapcici (a 10 sausage version was available) which was sausages baked in Bosnian bread which was delicious and a good portion size. We also got beans for the table and another portion of Bosnian bread to dip in beans and share. The bread itself is sort of grilled like a naan on outside but a softer consistency maybe like a Italian focaccia. The intimate setting was really size and homely and the place was buzzing with chatter from happy patrons. I also had a really nice house beer. The service staff were really friendly and spoke really good English, unfortunately my girlfriend was supposed to order the peppers but accidentally ordered cabbage filled with mince which they took off the bill even though it was completely our fault. I can’t recommend this place enough if you like sausages. I wish there was a place like this in the UK where you could go with a few friends, drink beers and load yourself up with stodge. It was really good value, the entire bill (minus the mince cabbage which was about €7) came to roughly €25 for the food pictured plus a pint of beer and Coke. One thing that may be an issue for people with walking disabilities is you have to go downstairs to enter the restaurant, perhaps there is a side entrance or something for disabled customers , I am not sure so something to be aware of. Thank you Sarajevo 84.

This was a great find that we accidentally came across but turns out everybody knows about it already. Firstly be prepared there can be a que at this place we were lucky enough when we first arrived that there wasn't one but by the time we left it was up the stairs. The decor is great has a nice old school relaxed atmosphere and we were immediately greeted by an employee who showed us to our table. The menu is pretty simple with a few options but great options and for me I would prefer that over hundreds of different items any day of the week. We went for a platter for 2 and a soup for starter but to be honest I would've ate everything if I had the space. The soup came with a side of bread which was fresh home made and full of taste, the soup was good flavour with alot of chicken so we were off to a good start. For the main the platter was big it came with a mix of meat rolls or cevapici seperate slabs of meat, sausages, cream and ajvar (forgive me if I spelt that the wrong way round) again with lots of bread Everything was delicious it would be unfair of me to say something was better then the other as it wasn't it was all flavoursome and cooked to perfection with the perfect side of bread. I forgot to mention the beans the beans were there and also brilliant full of flavour by the time I was getting to the end I was full up and struggling but couldn't waste anything. The price was very very reasonable considering Slovenia can be expensive but this place was not which to be honest it should be as it's great and a must if your in the city. I believe they have a few other resterauts so if you come across 1 try it and eat there and get a beer that is from there own brewery and brilliant tasting. By the time we finished everybody was waiting but the service doesn't rush you and comes with a lot of smiles and very friendly. So yes this was a great find even if everybody else already knows about it.

I'm giving this place 5 Stars based on our overall experience. This place gave us everything we were looking for and I think it's highly underrated! It was exactly how I imagined and old style Balkan restaurant to look, feel and taste. The atmosphere was warm and cosy with low stone walls, wooden accents and dim lights. The food was authentic local food, simple and without frills, but rich and hearty. The Bulkan pies with spinach and cheese twisted in a flaky filo pastry were amazing, as was their unique yeast flat breads and baklava.I don't eat meat so I also enjoyed the salad and baked beans (minus the sausage). My husband ordered the meat plate with roasted pepper pate and herbed cheese. Our bill was only €30 with all this food and beer & wine. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a real experience and not just another regular restaurant. #vegetarianfriendly #veganoptions

Go in summer and find yourself eating hot, sometimes spicy, fatty food in large quantities in a warm cellar. No doubt an experience writers as esoterical as Anthony Bourdain would describe as almost spiritual; and that it is because the food is so so amazing and really inexpensive. The beers are good, the service is friendly though it must be said: stressed. This place desperately needs more waiters. Nonetheless, they did all they could and when some of our food had to be remade because it had been dropped in transit, the drinks were on the house for the bother. Real friendly place in that sense. Can only recommend if you're looking for great, inexpensive (Bosnian) food and an original atmosphere with friendly staff!

Spectacular food and service :D They were full in the moment but we decided to wait and was the smart choice. The place was really cozy, music was nice, the menu has many interesting options, also with different sizes, so you can really mount a dinner to share with more people, tasting different dishes. Service was perfect. They suggested some sauces, about the sizes, always gently and food was prepared fast and fresh. We tried the cevapcici which was great in all senses. The beans were so soft and creamy. And the borek was top also. We had it all, plus two 0,5l beers, and it all costed only 20eur for 2 people, including a rounded down discount gently done by them. Might go back tonight... :D Thanks guys!

The food is big portion for cheap price(25 euro for the platter), but the cevapi(dont compare if you've been to Bosnia, you'll be disappointed, although it is a decent taste). We ordered the platter(August 30 evening) and we got food poisoning/diarrhea on the next day and a half. (it is just our 2nd day of our 12 day in slovenia, good thing it didn't last that long ), i don't know which one of the dishes is the culprit. I am giving the 2 stars because thr server(black hair) is really friendly and accomodating also the location is cozy in an old cellar style. I dont usually give a negative review, but just to serve a warning or a heads up to the management/kitchen.
