I was on holiday in Ljubljana and had heard good things about this place. The first promising sign that was true was there was a Que to get in, we had visited about 1pm on Saturday so perhaps peak time. We didn’t have to wait long and were allowed in ahead of larger groups as soon as a table for 2 became available.
My partner is vegetarian so she did have a limited selection to choose from, she went for the Bosnian pie which is a pastry filled with either spinach, cheese or potatoes (meat version also available). She went for the potato one and enjoyed it. There was also red peppers marinated in paprika she could have along with baked beans and bread or a salad.
As a meat eater I was spoilt for choice and went for the 5 x Cevapcici (a 10 sausage version was available) which was sausages baked in Bosnian bread which was delicious and a good portion size. We also got beans for the table and another portion of Bosnian bread to dip in beans and share. The bread itself is sort of grilled like a naan on outside but a softer consistency maybe like a Italian focaccia.
The intimate setting was really size and homely and the place was buzzing with chatter from happy patrons. I also had a really nice house beer.
The service staff were really friendly and spoke really good English, unfortunately my girlfriend was supposed to order the peppers but accidentally ordered cabbage filled with mince which they took off the bill even though it was completely our fault.
I can’t recommend this place enough if you like sausages. I wish there was a place like this in the UK where you could go with a few friends, drink beers and load yourself up with stodge. It was really good value, the entire bill (minus the mince cabbage which was about €7) came to roughly €25 for the food pictured plus a pint of beer and Coke.
One thing that may be an issue for people with walking disabilities is you have to go downstairs to enter the restaurant, perhaps there is a side entrance or something for disabled customers , I am not sure so something to be aware of.
Thank you...

We had an unforgettable dinner here and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. The food was absolutely incredible, the portions were beyond generous, and the entire experience was top-notch from start to finish.
We started with the Sarajevo 84 Plate (Plosca / Plate / Piato Sarajevo 84) for €32.90, which came loaded with: • 10 perfectly grilled ćevapčići (meat rolls) • 2 juicy pljeskavica (minced meat steaks) • Sudžukica sausage • Prebranac (baked beans) • Grilled pepper (pečena paprika) • Ajvar (roasted red pepper spread) • Kajmak (creamy cheese) • Fresh Bosnian lepinja bread
Every single item on the plate was packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, and beautifully balanced. The meats were tender and delicious, the spreads and sides were rich and authentic, and the bread was warm, fluffy, and ideal for soaking up the sauces. It was easily enough food for three people, and we still couldn’t finish everything!
Next, we ordered a Bosnian pie (Bosanske Pite – Buregdžinica) for just €4.50. We chose the spinach (zeljanica) option and it was absolutely delicious – flaky, savoury, and full of flavour. It made a great contrast to the meats and rounded off the meal wonderfully.
To top it all off, we had 3 glasses of house wine, and they were only €1.70 each – smooth, refreshing, and far better than you’d expect for the price. Excellent value all around.
On top of the fantastic food, the service was genuinely great – friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout. The waiters made us feel welcome and took the time to explain the dishes when we had questions.
All in all, this was an incredible dining experience – the kind that makes you want to come back the next day. Authentic, hearty Bosnian cuisine, great service, generous portions, and unbeatable prices. What more could you ask for?
Highly recommend – especially if you’re hungry and want to try a bit of...
Read moreThis was a great find that we accidentally came across but turns out everybody knows about it already. Firstly be prepared there can be a que at this place we were lucky enough when we first arrived that there wasn't one but by the time we left it was up the stairs. The decor is great has a nice old school relaxed atmosphere and we were immediately greeted by an employee who showed us to our table. The menu is pretty simple with a few options but great options and for me I would prefer that over hundreds of different items any day of the week. We went for a platter for 2 and a soup for starter but to be honest I would've ate everything if I had the space. The soup came with a side of bread which was fresh home made and full of taste, the soup was good flavour with alot of chicken so we were off to a good start. For the main the platter was big it came with a mix of meat rolls or cevapici seperate slabs of meat, sausages, cream and ajvar (forgive me if I spelt that the wrong way round) again with lots of bread Everything was delicious it would be unfair of me to say something was better then the other as it wasn't it was all flavoursome and cooked to perfection with the perfect side of bread. I forgot to mention the beans the beans were there and also brilliant full of flavour by the time I was getting to the end I was full up and struggling but couldn't waste anything. The price was very very reasonable considering Slovenia can be expensive but this place was not which to be honest it should be as it's great and a must if your in the city. I believe they have a few other resterauts so if you come across 1 try it and eat there and get a beer that is from there own brewery and brilliant tasting. By the time we finished everybody was waiting but the service doesn't rush you and comes with a lot of smiles and very friendly. So yes this was a great find even if everybody else already...
