Makalonca — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

Special location, very beautiful. Breakfast was nice, but the place was clearly understaffed. Poor waitresses were constantly running around, had no time to clean the tables or take orders in a timely manner and were very very clearly overwhelmed. Highly impacted service by no fault of their own, just schedule an appropriate amount of staff. Same song was playing the entire time, which got very repetitive. I can’t imagine working an entire shift listening to the same one song. Tables, glasses and cutlery were dirty, not to mention the bathroom was absolutely VILE. Can’t stress enough, do not go to the bathroom here!! There was feces smeared on the toilet seat and the stench stayed in your nostrils long...

Definitely a tourist trap. No locals throughout our visit, with lots of tables empty while neighbouring places were packed (we should have known). Uninviting, neglected space under the bridge (which could have been great). Crowded with dated decor.

Staff rather uninterested about the guests.

On menu - burgers that were served on planks to small for them, quite messy. Some of us liked theirs, some didn't. Overall the food did not scream "we did it with care".

I appreciate that there was a vegan option for some on our group, but those were the most controversial with orange "goo" that was marketed as a "vegan cheddar" (don't do vegan cheeses, they simply do not work).

Very disappointing experience. We waited 25 minutes just to place an order for four tequilas, then another 10 minutes to receive the drinks, and even longer to get the receipt.

One staff member was polishing forks, picked one up off the floor, and placed it among the clean ones—completely unacceptable. Another staff member kept checking the time, clearly not focused on service. Meanwhile, one employee was play-fighting with friends instead of serving, and the bartender was eating between pouring drinks.

Overall, the staff were unprofessional, and the service was slow and careless, especially considering the small workload. Definitely not...
