Restavracija Fresco — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

Up the hill from Lake Bled is this wonderful restaurant set under a large patio awning. The waitstaff is very professional and friendly. It feels like fine dining, but in a more casual atmosphere. My husband and I shared the Burrata appetizer which is served with arugula, cherry tomatoes and chopped pistachios on a bed of pesto. I had the veal wiener schnitzel and he had the chicken breast risotto. Our dishes were sizable portions, carefully presented and well-seasoned. This one was a memorable meal. So memorable that we returned a few days later.

On our second go-round we again had the Burrata. It was different from the last time, this plate had more tomato and less pesto, so perhaps the kitchen staff wasn’t the same. A steady rain had started and the staff were scrambling to remove cushions and relocate the patrons seated under dripping awnings and patio umbrellas. Even the Chef came out from his pizza oven area and helped.

That evening, my husband ordered the veal roast with polenta and I had the beef tagliata, 3 pieces of well-marinated grilled meat. We also had a bottle of Chardonnay Rebula, I find that the Slovenian wines are very much to my taste.

Every one of the 4 entrées we tried was a generous portion and very tasty. The food here was outstanding and I heartily recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in Bled...

It can get pretty busy during lunch hours so we decided to book a table in advance. Then when we were sat down, we were told out of the blue that the booking costs 15€ per person. We were not told this in advance and the manager apologized that he didn't mention it on the phone and he said that he would make an exception this time - okay, but it still wasn't our mistake. Then the waiter was pretty rude, complained about our orders not being fancy enough, didn't even bring us water and in the end we had to pay for six meals instead of five because we made a booking for six people. NOT GO IF YOU ARE TOURIST

Just horrible. Horrible service, they do not how to serve. I was still eating the main dish and they brought me the desert, just to make us finish earlier. I don't understand. They act like they are luxurious but they are definitely hot. How can you take the next dish if one in table is still eating the one before? The food is really not great.
