Wonderland = wonder where the service is!
We booked Wonderland before our holiday in Slovenia as it looked very cool on the website…looks can obviously be deceiving!
We booked about 1 month before for 4 adults and a child and requested a high chair. After all, the menu had a kids menu so we thought it catered for families (definitely not!)
We arrived to be told that there were only high chairs in the upstairs bar type area with blaring music (not suitable for kids). We asked could the highchair not be brought downstairs and we were told OK we can move downstairs.
When we got downstairs we sat at a table (we had choice of whole of downstairs- it was empty the duration of our meal). We were told they only had 2 high chairs but they would be free in 15 minutes.
We ordered cocktails and our food which arrived about 45 minutes later. We asked again for the highchair and the waitress said she would go and get one. It never appeared- the waitress never came back until we had finished our food. Our little boy had to sit on our lap to eat spaghetti bolognese! It was really frustrating, had we been told when we arrived that they didn’t have high chairs we would have just left and gone elsewhere.
The waitress appeared a long time later after we had finished our meal (and had empty glasses for about 30 minutes). No explanation as to why we didn’t get a highchair!
We paid our bill and ordered 1 pudding to share as we wanted to be quick with our young son. Pudding took so long! So we asked for refund as we didn’t want to wait any longer. It then took a long time to get a refund- various calls and the waiting staff saying they had to speak to the chef as they could not do refunds!
We have been in Slovenia for nearly a week now and the service everywhere has been amazing. I am so surprised there are good reviews for this place as we found the service literally non-existent. I will say the food and drinks were nice- shame the service let it down so badly!
Our advice, avoid! There are so many amazing restaurants in Llubljana with exceptional food and service so go elsewhere! This place may be ok for a quick drink or cake to go but the service just isn’t there if you want a nice...
Read moreI just got cheated from this shop. Never get they drinks smoothies or worst FRESH squeezed orange juice!!!! Why?! It’s fake!
1st the texture is too thick for a freshly squeezed orange juice 2nd no pulps 3rd the taste you know it’s from a bottle!
Coming from Switzerland and I have fresh orange juice everyday so I know the characteristics of a fresh orange juice. Here they change you €2.30 for O.1lt and I took a large size costed me €11.50 and I even never pay this in Switzerland
Worst, it’s a premix from a bottle and they cheat you saying it’s freshly squeezed - not at all. It looked different so before I left I asked again, are you sure this is freshly squeezed and she said yes.
I left and the moment I took a sip, it’s from a bottle 😅 Gosh I went back ask told her you’re kidding me but there was no point for me to make it right so my only way to bring awareness to others….and share my experience here
Be careful as Wonderland just gives you a fake Wonderland so ccll freshly squeezed orange juice.
I kept the orange juice for an hour to see the separation of water and pulp and that never happened! So here you go!!! Ohhhh and the girl just cut a fresh slice of orange and dropped it in 🤣
I bought smoothie too but I don’t dare to drink it as well because I don’t trust the mix if it’s pre mix or whatever!
So not tried their pastry but I tell you what, I’m not interested to try anything from them. Maybe it’s good but for me - that’s it!
Oh it just took them 4-5 mins to prepare the order and I’ve not heard any machine sound or whatever
So people pick...
Read moreI visited Wonderland Ljubljana after seeing it on TikTok, and while I was excited to check it out, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me.
The interior design is undeniably cool, with plenty of visual appeal; however, I was hoping for a more immersive, otherworldly experience—and that magic didn’t quite happen for me.
One thing that might have thrown me off was the music, as during my visit, they were playing reggae, which, while fine on its own, felt completely out of place for a venue called “Wonderland.” It didn’t match the whimsical vibe I’d envisioned.
On the plus side, the location is super convenient, right in the city center, and the layout offers multiple cozy areas to sit and enjoy a drink or meal. The space is spotless, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer—polite, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
I had breakfast (Eggs Royal) and their signature chocolate coffee. The food was beautifully presented, delicious, and the portion size was just right. The coffee was definitely an experience: served with milk in a glass, you pour the coffee over a thin piece of chocolate with sprinkles, creating a delightful little ritual before your first sip.
As expected from an Instagrammable spot like this, prices are a bit higher than in other places, but that’s definitely not a dealbreaker, given the aesthetic and vibe they’re going for.
Overall, while it didn’t transport me to another world, Wonderland is a nice spot to visit if you’re in Ljubljana, especially for a unique coffee moment or a...
