Value for money? Close to zero. I write this with a heavy heart as I'm typically inspired to write reviews only when I can give a solid 5 star review, to compliment the restaurant for their efforts. This time is unfortunately different. For a 15eur fish lunch menu I was surprised to find we were served a soup that had almost no taste, a few small cutoffs of very average fish, and guess what... An abundance of something that looked like green salad or rocket wrapped in rice.. So from a distance it actually looked like proper sushi rolls, but we were there eating, not just looking, which turned out to be a problem, as we ordered a fish menu. To conclude the below average experience we were served a very mediocre and tiny dessert. Service was.. Okey. If you are in Ljubljana with 15eur in your pocket to spend on lunch, there are plenty of very good options.. In fact any other place I've been to so far for lunch, has offered better value for money. On top, the place and decor hardly resembles a Japanese restaurant, it's much closer to a fast food place. Do yourself a favor...keep walking.. You're only 5min away from restaurants that...
Read moreIt’s not difficult to see why low score is given. You look on their IG, boss has random pictures, their waitress always nervous, presents high stress to customers as well.
So on that regard customer experience is already really bad.
Meat was really stiff, not the one you get in chinese restaurant, or the one at BTC city guy serving Takoyaki and meat too, which was way better to begin with. It was difficult to eat without knife, which was not provided.
Sushi was okay, it was difficult to feel the fish , it was soft, is that a good or a bad thing is up to you to decide.
We had lemon lemonade, not just any, it was HOMEMADE lemonade juice! The lemonade was literally just lemon juice squeezed and mixed with water, that is not lemonade. Is freshly squeezed lemon drink. Super sour and about 4-5e. I’d think twice before ordering anything from them.
The soup you receive is really bland, be prepared, it’s meant to freshen the pallet...
Read moreOkay guys, now this is Japanese food...! First night in Ljubljana, we were a bit tired with the early flight and awful transportation from the airport, so we wanted something that heals the body from our soul... and as a Japanese living in Europe, tbh didn't expect to find such an authentic Japanese restaurant here in this rather deserted(sorry😂) shopping mall in Slovenia.
We had the Karaage curry, salmon teriyaki combo set... and it was absolutely amazing. Even for a single miso soup, there's this hint of broth (probably fish?) and its these relatively small details that you can't see that differentiates the quality from others and makes it feel authentic.
The atmosphere is not flashy at all, but it actually gives these good old vibes of a super local store hidden in the small alley in Japan, which makes you feel like you're at home. Hats off, to the head chef, the talented and friendly staff, and whoever involved...
