Mozambik at the V&A Waterfront provides a vibrant dining experience with appealing views of Table Mountain and the busy harbor. Regarding the menu, expect main courses to generally range from approximately ZAR 150 to ZAR 350, with seafood platters potentially costing more. Starters and desserts are typically priced between ZAR 80 and ZAR 150. Drink prices are in line with other restaurants in the Waterfront area. While it's not the cheapest option, many find the overall experience justifies the cost. The service at Mozambik is generally commendable. Staff are often described as attentive and efficient. On this particular visit, our waiter, Africa, stood out for their exceptional friendliness and excellent service. Africa was attentive to our needs, offered helpful recommendations, and ensured we had a pleasant and enjoyable meal. Their positive attitude truly enhanced our dining experience. The cuisine centers around Mozambican and Portuguese flavors, offering dishes with delicious spices and fresh ingredients. Popular choices include their flavorful prawns and well-prepared chicken, often featuring their signature sauce. The seafood selection is fresh, and they also offer satisfying steak and rib options. The atmosphere is lively and relaxed, making it suitable for various gatherings. However, it can get somewhat noisy during busy periods. In conclusion, Mozambik at the V&A Waterfront is a worthwhile choice for those seeking tasty food with a vibrant ambiance and great views. The service, particularly from friendly and efficient individuals like Africa, contributes significantly to a positive dining experience. While the prices are moderate to high, the overall offering makes it a popular spot in the Waterfront.

I have never left an opinion on any restaurant, but this time it is different. It is important for me to note that I have traveled the world a lot and eaten at restaurants of all kinds including restaurants with two Michelin stars and I really feel obligated to leave a review of this restaurant. I'll start with the fact that my wife and I visited the port in Cape Town, arrived a little late and after a few recommended restaurants (not clear why?) We were told the kitchen was closed, we arrived at the Mozambique restaurant, and the manager told us the kitchen was about to close, but he would make an effort. The waiter was very kind and smiling, and recommended a fillet steak on a skewer. Please note, the steak was just perfect! We never ate any steak at all delicious, and I ate hundreds of steaks in hundreds of variations that did not come close to its perfect taste! Two days later we arrived at eight o'clock on Valentine's evening. We did not book seats, and we were five people. The manager said the restaurant was full, but asked us to wait, and after a few moments took care of us at the table and the waiter was smiling and kind again. The food was no less amazing, the portions were large and although the waiter said they would arrive late due to the congestion, they arrived faster than expected. Highly recommend to anyone who comes to the area and loves great food and service! Thank you very much

Visited for lunch today. Our first visit to this specific Mozambik. Ordered starter giblets as well as starter livers with calamari. The starter livers and calamari were excellent. The giblets were okay, a bit bland. My wife opted for the starter mussels... they were so good (please introduce a main sized portion). My daughter had the chicken and prawn espatada. The garlic lemon/herb sauce is so good with the chips, I ordered some extra with a roll so she could dip the roll in the sauce. Now for the slight negatives... the rolls served with the starters are not as fresh and yummy as the extra (Portuguese) roll I ordered on the side. I'd rather pay a bit extra for a decent roll with my starters. I ordered the ribs and chips... the ribs really need some work. I could tell they were smoked ribs which had been basted, they were really chewy and difficult to eat. I noticed another table struggling with their ribs as well. They tasted good , but really hard to eat. Service was excellent and I will definitely return after the revamp is done.

Funny Story here.

We walked into this place famished! we had just taken a Red bus tour that took 5 hours instead of 1.5 so...........

They make one of the best grilled chickens in SA, famished as we were my little boetie ( brother ) tells the waitron I want hotter than hell! his response, we have ghost pepper chilli chicken, so we order the full chicken with chips and veg. It arrives, we proceed to pour more hot sauce all over it. Manager comes over wide eyed! " You boys ok here? Do I need to get EMS?" Of course we dug in scoffed the thing, according to my little bro, the manager, his brother, our waiter and the barman all stood behind me watching us devour it all!

When all was said and done the big burly manager came over to our table. His words ........ " That was impressive you guys didn't even break a sweat, I really thought I might have to call an ambulance. I can't eat hot food like that "

That place is so busy the chicken literally flies out of the kitchen! You couldn't get it fresher! We were so hungry I didn't even stop to get a picture it was that good!

just one thing Mozambik V & A Waterfront You've got to get a wall of fame going there for that ghost pepper chilli chicken, it's effing hot and it's not for the faint hearted! whoever eats that and smiles needs a mention!

Great, just great and even better that we had management come and check on us ........... We will be back for more Ghost Pepper Chilli Chicken, thanks for a...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Seafood & Portuguese Gem at the Waterfront!

From the moment we approached the entrance of Mozambique, we were welcomed with a warmth that felt genuine—before the staff even confirmed we had a booking. A senior manager or perhaps a head waiter greeted us with professionalism and charm, and we were promptly seated at a well-chosen table.

Shortly after, our waitress arrived and immediately matched our energy—funny, friendly, and effortlessly joined in the playful banter between me and my partner. She gave excellent drink recommendations that didn’t disappoint. The shooters deserve a special mention—delicious, creative, and very reasonably priced. The cocktail blends were unique and honestly spectacular.

And then came the food. Wow. Easily some of the most flavorful dishes we’ve had in a long time. The spices and sauces were perfectly balanced—nothing overpowering, just pure taste harmony. The grilled chicken (prego-style) was cooked to perfection, and the prawns… absolutely divine. You could taste the prawn itself, not just a sauce masking it.

This restaurant deserves nothing less than five stars. The entire experience—from the welcome, service, drinks, to the final bite—was exceptional. For a restaurant located at the waterfront, Mozambique stands out as a top-tier spot. Whether you’re in the mood for prego, seafood, or just a good vibe, this place hits the mark. Highly, highly...
