Motherland Coffee Blu Bird — Restaurant in Gauteng

I live 2 minutes away from blu bird and we stop almost daily for a coffee, breakfast or lunch. Today I ordered an espresso, a juice and a chicken wrap. As I was coming from the shops I had bags in both my hands. I asked politely if it's possible to bring it to the table because I really can't take the coffee or the juice. All 3 staff members behind the counter were obviously offended by my request, and after talking in other language than English one of them told me that's self service. I said if it's too much of a deal to bring the order 5 meters away, especially when it was not busy at all, is ok I won't ever enter your place because clearly I'm unwanted. There are 6 coffee shops on the same complex, if you don't need clients, continue with this service....

Motherland started so so well, built on quality, service and atmosphere that could not be challange. For me the personal, sincer, friendly service was a big pull. I visited for great coffee and to be acknowledged with a friendly, caring small. They started out as 5 stars for everything and have slipped so far. At R38 for a regular capachino you must have 5 stars for service and atmosphere or you just become an over priced Star Buck scoring a fat zero in value. Two days ago I went to Blu Bird and experience sad misserable people who seemed to considerd it a favour to serve me. I wont be back, there are very competative...

This has become a regular coffee shop of mine. The service is really good and the staff are usually very friendly. I’ve only experienced one incident where the server I had was unpleasant and unprofessional. Otherwise the coffee is delicious and they have some nice food options. I would recommend the signature vanilla latte. There is secure parking in the centre and the aesthetic of the shop is quite nice. The only thing is that there isn’t a lot of seating and the outside seating is a little uncomfortable. They have free Wi-Fi for customers and it’s a nice place to sit and work for...
