We visited Melrose Hideout B&B this past weekend from Durban. I was lucky enough to stumble across this breath taking B& B nestled in the central area of Melrose.
Before we even booked, we were assisted by Busi who really went out of her way to assist my husband and I in choosing the perfect room for our weekend stay.
We booked the king deluxe room which was absolutely affordable considering we booked in on a weekend. Upon reaching the B&B, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was much better than the pictures and video we had seen.
The bed was incredibly big and so comfortable, it made our stay even better and my goodbye even harder.
The bathroom was spacious and clean (which is not something I’ve experienced at other B&B’s)
Busi and the team were so friendly towards us, they made our stay a memorable one. We found comfort in our room, stayed in more often than we had planned and overall was so impressed by the service of the staff.
A big thank you to Melrose hideout for making my trip to JHB so comfortable and an even bigger thank you to the staff especially Busi who was really so kind and helpful.
I hope to visit soon. This is truly such a gem of a place and one you won’t...
Read moreIt was a great experience , a beautiful place it is exactly as advertised on their page, staff was very helpful & friendly. However they need to upgrade their breakfast, I booked for two nights with a group of friends from 1st to 3rd November. We weren't't happy with the breakfast they prepared for us, beaten eggs, a singular Vienna & a lettuce salad, no I'm not happy about that. Sophie as the manager please ensure there's proper breakfast that guests pay for. Also noticed the staff were all rounders, they do everything from cleaning, preparing breakfast & being massage therapists. I didn't like the fact that we weren't told we'd share the kitchen prior booking, we only learnt that when we got there. We shared the kitchen with the staff & it wasn't a nice experience, cause we'd use the kitchen without privacy 🤦🏾♀️ & when we had lunch Sophie the manager invaded our privacy as paid guests by having lunch with her male friend, didn't even have the decency to ask if we were okay if she joined us . Besides that we had a beautiful stay...
Read moreWe booked via hyperli for 2 couples, when we called to check their availability they told us not buy the voucher we will pay on the premises, when we got there we the receptionist already had our information and she made us pay only to be told that they only have 3 bed’s meaning the other couple can wait for an hour for the other couple to finish we then told them that we only have 1h:30min so that setup won’t work for us. They asked us for the way forward, we asked for refund since they didn’t communicate with us they refused and said we must call the person we called to book, we called her and she dropped the call on us, she said she is just a cleaner. We had to demand our money to our suprise the people that don’t refunds refunded our money. We had the worst and traumatic experience in this place that l don’t wish for anyone, imagine going to a spa only to be offered a...
