Weekly Restaurant Recommendations: 📍Jhb Lunch: 1. 📍Olives & Plates (this time in Hyde Park). I usually order only 3 or 4 things off their menu, usually quite predictable amd their Prawn Linguine is usually one of my most preferred meals there. I feel as if I might be mistaken, but I always remember the Linguini served with chargrilled while prawns, not smaller 'shrimp'. I also found it very underseasoned (it just needed salt to be perfect), and the shrimp was fairly hard. We skipped dessert, but shared fries between us. 2. 📍Mastrantonio, Illovo Always a Friday night dinner, but opted for an early week lunch this time. Again, tried something new, which didn't mean I was dissapointed, but didn't entirely love it either. I had the Panzotti, and my friend had the Panzeroti. I read the menu item as, 'a touch of cream'. I found it extremely rich and creamy, and far too filling for just myself. I loved the Artichoke filling. We actually returned last night for a late dinner, and I had the Penne Salmone which was outstanding. 3. 📍Tashas, Nicolway Made a quick stop after school for Spicy Calamari with Salad and Fries. Nicolway has this item on their special menu (won't be at other branches). I always order this specific item at Nicolway. I recommend sharing it as it's a big portion. Dinner 1. 📍Mr George, Melrose What a weeknight vibe! As much as I really don't like Melrose Arch (for parking reasons), I loved my meal and dare I say it, will likely return. If you're a 'Big Mouth'fan, Mr George is the 'sister company', so expect to see some of the usuals on the menu. I'd definitely recommend making a booking; people were on a waiting list for up to 40m (on a Thursday evening!). We ordered the Bread and Butter Pudding, which should be shared by at least 4 people. I'd return for many of the other items, but mostly the great evening ambiance. #joburg #wheretoeat #wheretoeatjhb #eatingoutjhb
