i shop at the store purely because I work in Melrose Arch. Last week I purchased an advertised special offer on fruit and, when I didn't receive the anticipated discount price at the till, I queried. I was told that I should only have chosen packs with the red sticker. I pointed out that this was not indicated on the promotion sign. Cashier shrugged. Another lady was called, same story, i.e. tough, deal with it. When I threatened Facebook, THEN the lady offered to call management AND she attempted to withold one of the fruit packs (for which I had already paid) in order to stop me leaving the store. I created a mini-scene, took my goods and left. My boss persuaded me to hold back on Facebook and first write to Woollies, which I did. My boss asked me yesterday whether I had had a reply - hahahahaha. Today, I walked up to a till to purchase just one little pack of shortbread biscuits. The cashier looked at me and the pack that I had placed on the counter and then said "Please move to the other side". She made me pick up my biscuits and move them and myself to the other side of her till before she would ring up the item!!! Yes, I complained. Yes, the manager explained to the young lady that her treatment of the customer was incorrect. Yes, the manager made the young lady apologise to me. Most important of all though is : NO, I did NOT complete my purchase. I'd rather go without than deal with poor service over and over again. As it is, I usually only shop at the store when sent to buy food...
Read moreVery rude staff with bad attitudes. Today (14/04/2025), I had to return a pair of gym pants that I bought yesterday. This is because when I got home yesterday, I tried them on and saw that they were too big and stretched out in the front. I couldn’t try them on at the store because all the fitting rooms were locked. When I walked up to the counter, I was friendly and the staff member just stared at me without greeting me back after she saw I was there for a return request. She questioned me on why I wanted to return the pants, and another lady clicked her tongue at me for literally no reason. She then gave me the refund back on a voucher which is not what I wanted. There are very hard-working and professional people out there who would love these jobs, your staff clearly need training on basic customer service and manners....
Read moreWhen you arrive at a venue, anytime from opening to closing, the items on the menu have to be available. Arriving after a long shopping experience at Woolworths, Melrose Arch, we were confronted by a plethora of unavailable items. Simple items like Orange juice, ordinary brown bread and many other items that we wanted. The ordered toasted egg sandwich, and offered eggs over easy, came over cooked hard-as-nails. But in defence, the manageress did apologise and offered the m al complimentary. So when all said and done, at least accountability was taken. That is the saving grace. For that we...
