The rooftop restaurant has delightful views and decent food, but the service was extremely poor. At lunch, there was only one waiter serving five tables, it was difficult to get timely attention, drinks delivery was sporadic and the starters took more than 75 minutes to arrive. The main courses were delivered one or two at a time, over 20 minutes.
The most disappointing aspect is despite smoking being illegal in South African restaurants, the hotel brand allows smoking at the tables. This is unacceptable, particularly for an international brand like Radisson, which should be expected to follow local laws and regulations. Overall, the experience was disappointing and it's not recommended for those seeking quality service and adherence to the law. Read moreThis place will never see me again. I brought my family to the rooftop bar for sundowners, but our experience was instantly ruined. Upon arrival in the lobby, one of the hotel receptionists stopped us. In a very unwelcoming manner, he asked if we had a reservation. We explained that we’ve been here numerous times and phoned before to confirm, and never needed to have a reservation to go up to the bar. He then made up a false story, now suddenly claiming that there was a private function at the bar and that we’re not allowed in. Feeling very disappointed, we just left. Later that evening, to my surprise, I discovered through Instagram Stories videos that people posted on the rooftop that day that there was in fact no private function. Instead, it was just a very ordinary day with small groups of people and various empty tables. I got the feeling that the hotel reception selectively decides who they want to give access to the bar or not. Could it be to save space for their friends? Or to close the bar early? Maybe me and my family didn’t fit the kind of guests they want? Who knows! For this reason, I’ll strongly advise you reading this and anyone in my network against visiting this place and suggest checking out the many better rooftop bars in the...
Read moreWe booked a table for 4 at 7pm only to arrive and have no table for us. The lady told us to sit anywhere and she would bring our menus. We eventually had to get up from our table after waiting so long to fetch our menus. The steak and burgers tasted burnt we asked for spicy chicken strips they came plain and bland with no flavour. We received a salt shaker with no salt and waited for her to bring us another one, our food was getting cold so we had to get up and go and find our own salt. We asked for the bill it took so long and this point we just wanted to leave. Upon receiving the bill we were charged for 3 drinks (that were R105) that we never even got. Overall was great vibes but terrible service and below...
