After a recommendation we had lunch here. It was a big disappointment. There wasn’t a board advertising ‘Catch of The Day’ as one might expect so we ordered grilled Bream from the laminated menu. It was very underwhelming, in Fact both my husband and I thought it was frozen and not fresh at all. If that was the case the staff should be trained to guide you away frozen offerings and suggest what was fresh in that morning. So, we also chose a small side salad each. When meal arrived we we presented with a tiny lettuce leaf and a sliver or onion. When we commented on the size of this ‘salad’ the waiter laughed and said yes it is a garnish! We couldn’t bother to complain but when the bill came we had been charged for two side salads costing £3.00 each. That a tiny garnish could cost this much was ridiculous so we did complain and then they admitted we hadn’t been served the side salads after all and removed them from the bill. All in all it was a pretty miserable experience. I think both the food and the level of staff training needs to be improved as at the moment it is poor. Another bone of contention for me was the seating. I have a spine problem so benches that provide no back support are v uncomfortable for me and I couldn’t wait to leave. I shall be avoiding all establishments with this kind of...
Read morePlease see respons from the owner: The truth of the matter. We were not rude. We requested politely that the children cannot run wild throughout the restaurant in-between all tables screaming and shouting. They had a rugby ball and as parents they needed to control the children which would impact on the other guests. This was unacceptable to them hence they left. We are a family friendly Restauarant, but children must be supervised. In 15 years we have never had an occurrence of this magnitude - running wild and out of control!
Note the last words: "out of control". This was his comments about innocent young children. We were a big group of people with many kids. All our kids are very well behaved. This is not a family friendly restaurant. This was our second time visiting with children the the last time the was also a problem because of the sand and the children so claiming that in 15 years you did not have a problem is an absolute lie. The owner is a grumpy man who wants absolute silence in the place, even though there is a kids playing area. However he missed out on a R5000 bill. We had a lovely time at Tapas where the manager were shocked that we were chanced away from this place. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILIES WHO LOVE...
