Disappointed Beyond Belief
I recently had the displeasure of ordering takeaway, and it's safe to say I won't be making that mistake again. For over R1000, I ordered three butter chicken curries and some rotis. Imagine my shock when I got home and discovered that there was no rice included with the curries.
At no point during the ordering process was I asked if I wanted rice, nor was it mentioned that rice is only provided for dine-in customers. When I called the restaurant to inquire if there had been a mistake, I was curtly informed that rice is only served with dine-in orders. This policy is not only absurd but also feels like a blatant attempt to nickel-and-dime their customers.
Butter chicken without rice is like a sandwich without bread – it simply doesn’t work. For the price I paid, I expected at least the basics to be covered. This experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth, and I will certainly not...
Read moreI am very happy to have tried this place. Very friendly and professional waitress. Not too full and/or cluttered like most Indian restaurants. The place was clean and neat.
All ordered foods were cooked and served to perfection. Portions sizes were huge (imho). Needless to say that all 3 of us really enjoyed our food.
It was the first time in my experience that an Indian restaurant actually succeeded in serving up mild Indian food, as was ordered. 😋😋😋
And oh yes, it was also the first time where an indian restaurant is able to serve up Indian food that is not drowning in fats and/or oils, which is the norm with Indian cuisine. For the first time, I could eat my food without worrying about how to avoid the oil. Usually, this is only possible with home cooked meals. So, 10 stars to you for getting this perfect.
Thank you for the jokes and the hospitality. We will definitely see you again when...
Read moreAttended a company end of year supper on the 8th Dec. Starters were nothing to rave about with better food obtainable from any drive thru. Main course took over an hour to arrive. My meal was absent of salt and was surely microwaved since it lost temperature in minutes. Samosas had boiled mince and the pastry was under fried. Various chicken portions were probably warmed under a flouresent light. The dish I ordered was on the Specialities section but it lacked imagination, flavour and fresh spices. I skipped dessert and opted for a simple cup of five roses tea, which never arrived. Waitrons lacked co-ordination which resulted in duplicated orders and in some cases lost orders. Naans arrived 10 minutes after the accompanying dish. Management was absent and took no heed of the very vocal complaints from the table. 1 star is...
