Where should I start? The food, probably the only good thing about this place. We got Calamari & Chips and a Burger which were GREAT. The seasoning, the perfect crisp, the sauce in the burger, everything was great. Starting off with this good of a note, you‘d Imagine we had a great time. Absolutely not! The waiter that welcomed us was slow, didn’t even smile and was borderline rude. We waited for about 15 minutes after being seated to be asked about our order and an extra 30 minutes for the food to come (note that it was quite empty). When paying, the check showed a different value than what was asked from us (which we thought was a mistake because the tip is usually written by hand on the check in the restaurants nearby). When we asked the waiter about it, he started shouting at us, telling us it‘s a service fee and if we didn’t want it we had to sit at the bar (We didn’t, for a single second, talk about not paying it we just assumed there was a mistake). He then went on telling us it would be deducted from his salary and we just had to sit somewhere else if we were not willing to pay. Now, for extra context, we were speaking French which the waiter seemed to understand. Hence, he went on telling us, in French, how if we didn’t like the service (which we talked about in French) we just had to go somewhere else and that the rules for his restaurant. The interaction was very awkward and the way we were spoken to in French was incredibly rude and inappropriate. I‘m sure this is not a universal experience in the restaurant because other waiter seemed to be more welcoming than ours and we heard great things about the place. We just ended up being greatly disappointed. Would...

If you are a lover of whisky and want to do a tasting, you can give Mitchell's Scottish Ale House, located at the V&A Waterfront, a visit. They have a couple of routes you can choose from which groups whiskies from different distilleries together. Some of our group went for the Islay Malts route and others decided to go for the Highland Malts route. I decided on the Islay Malts, as I love peated and smoky whiskies, and I really enjoyed it. The whisky portions were good, and I loved how they gave you some olives with the tasting. There are some things that they can improve on regarding the tasting though. The first thing I noticed was that the whiskies weren't presented in the order they necessarily needed to be tasted in, and instead were just given to us in the order in which they were poured. This definitely has an impact on the tasting, as for example when you taste the Islay Malts, some of them are more smokey than others, so it is better to taste the more smokey ones at the end rather than the beginning. The other thing was that our waitress had no knowledge of the whiskies she was presenting us, and just put a booklet down with information. If they can upskill some of the waiters to handle these tastings, it could tremendously add to the experience. Overall, for those wanting to taste some new and different whiskies, give them a try, you won’t be...

Robbed... 1st we went in past 10, but the bouncer told us to write 21:50 so that they can't get punished for late entries, already sketchy and now we don't have any leg to stand on for the argument... We then entered and ordered our first round. A little while later the bartender told us last call, and we ordered another round immediately, while clearly being about halfway with our first round. Without realizing that it's already 22:55, the manager then came to tell us we have 5 min to basically finish 1 and a half beers each, literally 2 min after paying our bill and leaving an extremely healthy tip. We then asked extremely politely if they didn't have any sort of container so that we can take our ALREADY PAID FOR FULL BEERS home with us... She responded with a very heavy attitude that absolutely under no circumstance are we allowed to take alcohol off the premises. We even went as far as to offer to pay for the glass itself... This she also refused saying it's against the law. Any evidence I can find online suggests that if I've already paid for it it's mine. We left extremely unhappy and literally felt robbed. At which point this Karen legit laughed at us and waved goodbey closing the door behind us... I should also add that we already added a very generous tip...

Came highly recommended as the place to watch sport and have a bite to eat. An extensive beverage selection with all you can expect. A well curated whisky selection, which one wouldn't expect in a casual bar of this nature. Ordered 600g of ribs. Hugely disappointing. It was an extremely generous portion but I left most of it untouched. Poorly cooked with awful basting. The home made Apple crumble went some was to placate the palate after what can only be described as an awful meal. Several screens showed a variety of sports. Slightly disappointed that they didn't agree to changing one screen top an alternative channel. All in all a decent experience with an attentive waiter, albeit she was under pressure with several tables to attend to. Great place to have a drink and watch sport. I would stick to simple menu items.

Wow we were blown away by this little gem which you might miss if you only venture into the main eating/shopping zones of the V&A Waterfront. Get yourself up to Beach Road and you'll be in for a treat. 😊 Service staff were welcoming and friendly and there were plenty of tables to sit - both outside and in. Menu was extensive and fantastic value for food and drinks. We opted for the Mitchell's sliders and Mitchell's BLTC to eat, which were both very filling, washed down with a lovely Sauv Blanc (for her) and a Mitchell's tasting board of 4 beers. Definitely worth a return visit, or maybe even more.
