i went to wimpy on Wednesday, 23Dec 2020. I usually love dining at Wimpy... However i got really disappointed in the service received, had to send my daughter to go inside to ask some menus, after receiving the menus we waited almost 15 mins and still nobody came out, then i decided to go and sit inside where my 10 year old daughter decided to go play in the kids area, what a disgrace of service received.. My daughter went inside the play area, played for about 5 minutes then a lady named Kholiswa came and she told my daughter to leave in a very rude manner telling my daughter that she is not 10 years old and shouldn't be in the play area,I do understand that my daughter is a bit tall for her age but as I went to go and enquire if there is a maximum height, the extremely rude Zimbabwean supposedly to be a manager named Rodwell was so rude to me saying that how can i ask such a question of height when i can see my daughter is not allowed in there. i have never been treated like that at any othet wimpy... at the rate your staff members is treating customers, don't be suprised if you have to close doors in future due to a drop of sales..I am utterly disgusted that a manager could actually speak to customers in such a manner. Before telling me to go to the go review link that is not working, Please be advised that I have no intention of going through all these channels to lay a complaint. All i can say is that Rodwell as a manager and Kholiswa that is supposedly scheduled to take care of kids in the play area is a total disgrace to the...
Read moreIt takes a lot for me to review an establishment. My experience today was something else so I took time to go through their reviews. Well everyone is right regarding service, order issues, below standard food; I experienced it all, so let me discuss a particular meal, "THRILL OF THE GRILL" which I ordered with Pap.
This meal is said to come with relish, instead mine came with warmed up KOO Tin Chakalaka Mild & Spicy. The audacity to serve such in a franchised establishment. (I wouldn't be surprised if they sent someone to Pick n Pay to buy this tin as the wait for my meal was so long it came when my entire family was done with their meals) The pap was extemely dry and flakey it was like pressed phuthu to a dome shape. The baby quarter chicken (size) was over cooked to an extent that some bites I chewed were so rubbery even biltong chunks are softer. The wors was the only decent piece in the plate. I would say the meal is bad and should not be in their menu, but reality is, for an establishment in the center of Cape Towns tourist hub, they have no respect of food and clearly their cooks only know breakfast. With past reviews one can comfortably assume this Wimpy will not improve its standards so it would be best if they focused on breakfast and their barista offerings and stay away from the...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with the level of service I received during my recent visit to the restaurant. Our waitron, Amanda, displayed an unprofessional attitude and lack of basic customer service skills.
Firstly, she forgot to place one of the orders, and instead of addressing the mistake herself, she sent another waiter to inform us that she had forgotten. This was both unprofessional and inconsiderate. Throughout the ordering process, she did not move around the table to take everyone’s order properly — we had to speak loudly across the table just to get her attention.
When the food was eventually brought to the table, Amanda made no effort to serve the dishes to the respective patrons. The person seated closest to her had to pass the plates around, which is unacceptable in a restaurant setting. To make matters worse, there was no word of apology for her oversight or for the inconvenience caused.
Overall, the service we received from Amanda was disappointing and far below the standard expected. I hope management addresses this issue to ensure that future customers receive the level of professionalism and courtesy one expects...
