One day, I decided to grab a quick bite at McDonald's in Bloemfontein through their drive-thru. Little did I know that it would turn out to be my worst experience at the fast-food chain.
As I approached the drive-thru, I noticed a long line of cars, which didn't bother me initially as it was a busy time. However, I soon realized that the staff at the drive-thru were extremely slow and inefficient. It took me about 15 minutes just to reach the order station, which was already frustrating considering it was supposed to be a quick option.
When I finally got to place my order, the employee seemed disinterested and unprofessional. He mumbled through the options and seemed annoyed by my questions. I placed my order, which consisted of a Big Mac meal and some nuggets. I was asked to wait for my turn to pay and collect my food.
The waiting period was excruciatingly long. I watched as cars behind me were served before me, despite arriving later at the drive-thru. It seemed like the staff didn't care about the order in which customers arrived. This added to my frustration as I could see my food sitting on the counter, ready to be handed over.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I reached the payment window. The employee took my money without any acknowledgment and barely said a word. I was handed my receipt without a smile or a thank you. It was clear that the staff lacked basic customer service skills.
Once I collected my food and checked it, I realized that they had messed up my order. Instead of a Big Mac, I received a McChicken sandwich. I decided to inform the staff about the mistake and asked for my correct order. However, they seemed annoyed and unapologetic, as if I was inconveniencing them.
At this point, I was extremely frustrated and disappointed with the entire experience. The lack of efficiency, poor customer service, and a wrong order made it the worst McDonald's experience I had ever encountered.

   Read moreI want to start by saying I usually come to this McDonaldâs because itâs convenient and quick. However, my experience today has been extremely disappointing.
I arrived at McDonaldâs at 10:10 AM on 26/12 and was informed they donât open until 10:30 AM. While thatâs understandable, this information wasnât displayed anywhere, so how was I supposed to know? I waited until 10:30 AM, but then I was told the they were operating as drive-thru only.
I prefer to go into the McDonalds and order using the self-service machines because orders through people end up incorrect. I went through the drive-thru and placed my order, only to be told the soda machine wasnât working, so I couldnât get a soda. I then asked for a Grimace Shake, but they said it wasnât available.
This isnât the first time this has happened. I visited last week to try the Grimace Shake, and it was unavailable then as well. Advertising items that are not in stock feels like false advertising, especially when theyâre prominently displayed on the menu boards.
Iâve had similar experiences in the pastâlike when the chicken tenders were launched a few years ago. I went to try them, but they werenât available either. Itâs frustrating that promotional items are advertised but never seem to be in stock.

If I have that last R50 stashed and I feel like a nice take out this is my go to place and not at once have they ever disappointed me.I get a meal for below R50 and an extra perk of their very fast operating wi-fi for as long as I want to sit there for.The staff are very friendly and do their job very well I won't lie.
