달콤한 거짓말 — Restaurant in Seoul

I wanted to try some bingsu and thought of supporting this small café. The menu was in Korean, but since I only speak English, I spoke with the owner who fortunately knew some conversational English. I mentioned that I wanted a mango bingsu.

I was charged 23,800 won for what I thought was a one-person mango bingsu. After paying and tasting it, I realised it didn’t seem right. The menu actually lists a Jeju apple mango bingsu for two people at that price. What I received, however, was a very ordinary mango bingsu — just shaved ice with milk, fresh mango, and a tiny piece of strawberry. There was no apple flavour at all?

When I asked the owner about it again, he insisted that this was what I ordered. I tried to explain that it didn’t taste like apple mango, but he suddenly claimed he didn’t understand English anymore. I even tried using Google Translate into Korean, but he said he still couldn’t understand.

It’s disappointing to feel taken advantage of as a tourist. I would much rather have been treated honestly than left with this kind...

매우 만족하는 카페. 조용한 분위기에 여름이나 봄에는 야외테라스(?)에서 먹는것도 좋아보임. 2층이 자리가 더 넓음. 1층은 스콘이랑 쿠키가 진열되있는데 달달한 냄새 장난아님. 빨리 2층으로 가지않으면 또 지갑을 열게됨. 직원분께서 주문한메뉴 가져다주시고, 다먹은것도 테이블에 두고오면 치워주심. 테이블 간격들 널찍함 아이스커피는 신맛적고 묵직한맛이 좀더 강함. 고소한맛 느껴지고 위에 커피큐브가 있어서 천천히 마셔도 밍밍하지 않게 잡아주는것같음. 케이크 매우 맛있음. 매우!!매우 맛있음! 저 딸기케이크를 꼭 먹어봐야함. 뭐라고 말을 표현할수가 없음. 그냥 정말 맛있다는 말 말고는 없음. 케이크 시트 부드럽고 촉촉한데 생크림은 느끼하지 않게 혀에 스며들듯이 사라짐. 싼 생크림의 몽글몽글한 그 느낌 없음. 여태 내가 싫어하던 생크림들이랑 다름. 당근케이크도 맛있는데 일단 저...
