Daega Myeongdong — Restaurant in Seoul

Terrible experience!

We went to Daega Korean BBQ (near Myeongdong Exit 9 MRT) and had a horrible time. My husband went down to the 1st floor to make payment in cash, as payment wasn’t possible on the 4th floor where we were dining. He paid, but the cashier refused to give him a proper receipt. After insisting, they gave him a fake interim receipt, which we only realized when we got back to our hotel.

When the kids and I came down separately, another staff member accused us of not paying! We immediately pointed out the cashier who had taken the cash just two minutes earlier, but she pretended to be busy typing and completely ignored us. It felt like they were trying to scam us—maybe pocket the cash and make us pay again.

The food was just okay and overpriced, but this kind of dishonest behavior ruined the entire experience. Avoid this place at all...

TOURIST TRAP. Do not visit if you are a tourist. Unfortunately we went for street food but stalls weren’t set up yet and we were hungry so we went in. They sat us down immediately. We ordered the pork ribs and a plate of flank steak. The weight/ images on the menu do not reflect what is actually received. It was much smaller portions and very expensive. For 1 pork rib, about 8 pieces of steak, a very average kimchi pancake, 2 rice and 2 cokes it was $122AUD / 110,000 won. Absolutely NOT...

If you want to eat "just a one shit piece of soy sause crab" with 50dollor. This is the best place you can go. Literally "one" piece of crab lol, I'm telling truth I guarantee if u want to eat something much better dinner, get to Jonggak, near Myeungdong. Definately Myeungdong is not good...
