If you need a break from the exhilarating chaos of Myeongdong's shopping streets, the Paris Baguette on the main strip is your perfect pitstop. Stepping inside is a sensory shift: the bright, clean interior and the unmistakable, comforting smell of freshly baked bread and sugar instantly wipe away the street fatigue.

The sheer variety is overwhelming in the best way. The displays are packed with everything from perfectly golden, crusty traditional baguettes to the most elaborate pastries you can imagine. I always gravitate toward their signature red bean shu cream puff, the combination of light choux pastry, sweet red bean, and whipped cream is just perfect. Washed down with a decent iced Americano, it’s the ideal recharge combo.

Paris Baguette is a chain with many locations here in Seoul. And its a chain done well! This branch here boasts a good location. Walk out the Myeongdong Subway Station Exit 4 and it's right in front of you.

We were staying in a nearby Hotel (Pacific) and that was always either our first stop in the morning or the last stop before sleep. It's open until midnight and still at that time you get some good stuff.

There's all the different kind of breads and pastries. But they also fix some good sandwiches (try the Club Sandwich). But what we loved most about it were the delicious cakes. You can get a slice for a few bucks or even a mini-cake for just around 7$. The Strawberry Cake was our favorite, followed by the classic chocolate. The Milk Cake was something different, good to try, but not something I'd eat often. Also good: Custard Cream pastries.

And of course they also sell coffee. Cheaper than Starbucks but just as good.
