A Delightful Visit to TaeSung Whelk in Gwanghwamun, Seoul

I recently visited TaeSung Whelk, a fantastic pub located in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. This place offers a great atmosphere, clean environment, and most importantly, delicious food at affordable prices.

One of the highlights is their Whelk, which is a type of sea snail. The taste is truly remarkable. In addition to Whelk, TaeSung Whelk also serves various other dishes, such as chicken, pork cutlets, and a variety of beer snacks. This casual pub is a favorite spot among locals.

If you're visiting Gwanghwamun, I highly recommend stopping by this affordable, clean, and wonderful restaurant for a quick break. However, please note that they open at 2 PM, making morning visits impossible.

Looked for a place to eat something, preferably fried, and ended up here. It's a pub / bat so I assumed it would have fried food, and it did. We got the fried chicken with the green onions, and some fried shrimp. The chicken wasn't bad, but not exciting and definitely not the best I had in Seoul. Fried good, not dry, with a standard sweet sauce. The shrimp weren't that good. They were greasy and felt like the oil wasn't hot enough. A pretty ordinary whelk place. I gave it 3 stars—not because it was bad, but because it wasn’t anything special compared to other spots. The whelk was fresh and spicy, though, which made it a great match with beer.
