Terrible Experience at Yoogane - Avoid this Restaurant!

During my recent trip to South Korea, I had the opportunity to dine at Yoogane, and I regret to say that it was far from a positive experience. The service at this restaurant left a lot to be desired, and my companions and I were thoroughly disappointed with our visit.

From the moment we stepped inside, it was evident that the staff lacked the enthusiasm and dedication to provide a pleasant dining experience. Their attitude towards us was nothing short of disappointing, as they appeared disinterested in assisting with anything and failed to deliver the level of service one would expect from a reputable Korean restaurant.

Our encounter with server 1, a female responsible for helping us to stir-fry the chicken, was particularly unsettling. Her deliberate flinging of the spatula, with a complete lack of regard for proper handling, left us with a sense of intentional provocation. Such behaviour is entirely unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one with a reputation to uphold.

To make matters worse, server 2, another short-haired staff member, displayed a regrettable and scolding tone while helping us fry our rice. This behaviour created an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our meal, and it was a stark departure from the professional conduct one would anticipate from the restaurant staff.

We visited Yoogane on a Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Despite the lack of customers, the staff didn't seem interested in attending to anyone properly. I observed them being rude not only to us but also to other tourists sitting at the adjacent table. The staff talked loudly and even rolled her eyes when the tourists tried communicating with them. Witnessing this behaviour was extremely disheartening, as it was evident that the staff's unprofessionalism was a consistent issue.

I strongly advise against visiting Yoogane based on my horrendous experience. The restaurant's terrible service and disrespectful staff ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. As a tourist trying to enjoy the local cuisine, encountering such rudeness was truly disappointing. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in South Korea that offer delicious food and exceptional service, so do yourself a favor and...

Decided to try out this restaurant for dinner at 9pm. Was guided to our table. When decided the choice for our meal, we were informed that some of the menu selection were sold out. Well, we still decided to proceed with other order as lazy to go other places. However, I noticed that the selection get lesser as hour passed till left with kimchi fried rice as other customers who was guided to their table was only informed of the selection when they decided to place their order. Most of them will leave the restaurant straight after hearing the staff update. Staff should have instead informed the customers first before entering the restaurant to save both party precious time.

Going back to the meal review, the staff will assist to cook the dishes. The servers are all youngster but think they have been busy the whole day, and doing the cooking for each table, so don’t expect a friendly staff to serve your table. This is the korea style with their not friendly attitude. 😂

Overall, the dinner is nice and we do add on 2 portion of ramen to make it a meal. There also self service kiosk for side dishes with no...

Horrible service. They shout at you. Tell you not to touch things in Korean when you're not Korean. Give the dirtiest looks you can imagine. The manager yelled at me to go down, and I said my grandma can't climb stairs easily - walking stick so please let us have a table on the first floor. He glared and damn near shouted at us to sit and wait. Then assume everyone speaks Korean and calls us over in Korean, when we don't come, because we don't know anything, he appears - pissed. Ordering was also curt and rude. Don't touch this. Don't touch that. With tons of attitude, even from waiters. Even in China, I get better treatment than this crap. I recommend this place if you want to leave with indigestion and anger. Most ridiculous service for somewhere that's supposed to be famous. Not even worth trying. The most delicious food would taste like...

This place is in the heart of Myeongdong. The service was more of a "get in and get out" type of thing. They didn't linger around you or ask you if you needed anything, which was just fine for us. The sides are self served and delicious. You get kimchi, soup, cabbage with sauce, and some vegetable that I still don't know what it is, but it's good!!! hahaha. We ordered their signature dish "yoogane chicken gilbi" and it was AMAZING. We had different servers come by to mix our meal, which cooked in front of us. The atmosphere was fun and busy, and the price was great. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You're Welcome.
