Jjajangmyeon is actually a very popular Korean Chinese dish. Its noodles in black bean sauce. I already tried it before in a small mom-and-pop restaurant nearby. Its a simple dish but very tasty and comforting. I was curious to try this store by Baek Jong-won, a renowned Korean chef. Its located along the busy Myeongdong strip. Its a very busy and noisy store with lots of customers coming in but a Korean friend was with us so ordering thankfully was easy. You can get a seat and browse the menu but its a counter order and payment system at the entrance before the meal is served. Food presentation is good. Every dish looks tasty and delicious. Generous portioning you can share with your friends. The regular black bean noodle is good but I like a little heat in this kind of weather so the spicy version with the chili is way better. Sweet and sour pork dish has a pale color sauce unlike the traditional Szechuan thick orange reddish sauce. There is option to change the sauce to this with additional cost of course. It is still a delicious dish to pair with the noodles. Spicy fried shrimp is ok but honestly you can skip this one unless you really want a seafood dish with your meal. Some diners can get a bit noisy when they have their alcohol drinks. Overall its probably a good place to start if you want to try Jjajangmyeon black bean noodle. The dish actually originated from a Chinese dish called Zhajiangmian and was modified by Chinese migrant workers in South Korea to better suit local tastes. Surprisingly some locals are actually not familiar this dish so if you have the chance to try this dish, visit this store and go for a bowl of hot noodles.

visited on September’23. ordered the jajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk. I’m sorry to say that it didn’t meet my expectations. The jajangmyeon was rather bland, and the Tangsuyuk had an overpowering taste of pepper, with the sweet and sour sauce lacking. The portions, however, were generous. If you’re dining as a party of two, one bowl of jajangmyeon and a small portion of Tangsuyuk should suffice, unless you have a hearty appetite. The menu offers only eight items. They provide free self-service mineral water. They close at 9 pm, so around 8:45 pm, the staff seems to be in a hurry to finish work and may approach you to check if you’ve finished and if they can clean the table. I visited during a weekday dinner time, and it wasn’t crowded; plenty of tables were available. Personally, I didn’t find the taste of the food to my liking.

Not usually a fan of korean chinese food but this was amazing. ✨Jajangmyeon @ 6,000 won The noodles were soft and chewy topped with a savoury yet sweet black bean sauce without overpowering the dish. ✨Jjamppong @ 7,000 won Spicy seafood broth loaded with various ingredients such as clams, prawns and squid. A warm and hearty dish perfect for a cold, rainy day. Tangsuyuk @ 14,900 won Deep fried battered pork with cabbage, carrots and black fungus topped with a thick and sticky sweet and sour sauce. Menbosha @ 8,500 won Deep fried bread with a shrimp paste filling served with a sweet chilli sauce which added to the flavour profile of the dish. ✨ must trys!! ✉️ follow me @BrieVco on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for more!

Super bad reviews, fried sauce noodles are super bad, service attitude is super bad! Pull can not, a door, the waiter's indifferent face like I am to beg for food, order food information, the answer is colder than the iceberg, the words are impatient. When waiting for dishes, I urged tea several times, and then took a cup of warm water slowly, which is to let me heat it? Finally the dish came, there is a dish obviously not my order, communicate with the waiter, he actually rolled his eyes and said "this is it", that looks as if I am vexatious, even the basic respect is not, let alone solve the problem. I've never seen such bad service, kicking customers around like a ball. This restaurant is not here to serve customers at all, but to add to them. If you can give negative points, I will not hesitate, sincerely advise everyone to avoid lightning, do not spend money to find suffering! Disgusting service attitude, will never come back!
