They don’t even deserve 1 star from my experience. I’ve made a booking on this “hotel” from boo king dot con and realized that it was a BIG MISTAKE. The staff were very ignorant from the way they handled my simple request and the way they answered my questions. When I said I’m disappointed, they just simply asked me to cancel my booking and book other hostel, without any sign of appology. From my point of view, this is very rude way to reply your guest. As they clearly know that it’s very hard to find a new room when your travel date is near and it’s during peak seasons (Christmas Eve to New year). Bear in mind that I’ve booked with them for 8 nights, for some hotel it’s already considered as long stay. When I claimed that they are so ridiculous, they even replied that it is not ridiculous to reply me. MOREOVER, the ROOM they reserve for me were NOT THE SAME as stated in boo king dot con. If you read the reviews from boo king dot con cleary, you’ll find some of the guest encountered this problem too. I get to know this “hotel” from some bloggers, somehow I wondered if the “hotel” pay for them to give good reviews? (IF you read the reviews carefully again, you’ll also find the staff replied in a rude way claiming that they are just HOSTEL, don’t expect good hotel services)
As conclusion, I’ve been wasting my time to write this long just for one reason. Don’t get fooled by the...
Read moreI stayed here twice in May. The 1st time was just a layover. First off, the rooms are tiny. I stayed in two different dorms and both were tiny. With 2 bunks arrayed against the walls, there’s just about enough space for one person to pass between. The first dorm I stayed in had a tall locker which was narrow, but could fit a medium sized bag. The 2nd stay, there was no locker and everyone had to put their bags & suitcases on the floor.||The bathrooms looked nothing like on the booking websites. They are about 1.5 square metres and tiny. There’s barely enough room for a toilet and sink. The shower is over the sink and water is connected to the sink tap. When you shower, the water gets everywhere. At least liquid soap and shampoo were provided. The beds do have comfortable mattresses, pillows and quilts. There are two electrical points and USB ports. The privacy curtains did its job of keeping light out. There’s an odd system where a room is only clean 1 day for every 4 days of stay. I did request one, otherwise the room would’ve been awful.||The main thing that this place has going for it is its location right on Myeongdong. Overall, it's decent for the price and location. The cleanliness and breakfast are okay. The place feels more like a hotel with dorms than a true hostel. I think Step Inn is okay for a short stay of a few days. I certainly wouldn't stay for...
Read moreLocated directly in Myeongdong so it is very convenient to go shopping on the first floor. Myeongdong shopping district is easily accessible by using the lift (There are 2 lifts available). Breakfast is free and available from 7 to 10 a.m.. The earlier you have your breakfast, the more the chances to reserve for more seat because the dining area might be full from 9.30 to 10 a.m.. The advantage is that you can save some money for breakfast every day. There were hangers provided to hang your clothes. Moreover, there is also a weighing scale at the aisle of the inn to weigh your baggages so it doesn't exceed the weight limit per person. However, the downside of staying in this inn is that both the bathroom and the room itself is too small to fit in. The matter is worse if you come with your family. You can imagine that you can't sit on the toilet bowl with your legs sticking out at the front but moving them to the side. Moreover, you have to squeeze all your things on a small and narrow table. Plus, the glass wall enclosing the toilet is translucent so your friends, family or companion staying with you might be able to see you in details in the washroom. Not only that, there are too little choice for breakfast every day so you might want to buy something light downstairs at the first floor...
