Hello. I try to be fair & honest with my review. We went there on the 25th June 2025 for dinner in the evening.
Good things first: Reservation and check in was uncomplicated and easy. Location is very authentic for an argentinian steak house.
Chorizo sausage, piementos de Padron and Sepia also very good as starters. The taste was very good.
The mango/queso salad of my wife was also good.
Now the things which made us feel a little uncomfortable:
I've ordered a 500g T-Bone Steak and received more of a Rumpsteak (No Rib-eye ) with T-Bone and no filet mignion on the other side. The meat quality was basically very good and it was tender so far but it was not what I've ordered/expected. I've also ordered medium/medium rare and received medium rare/Rare. There was no real crust on the Steak. Maybe the grill wasn't as hot as it should be.
I could have send it back but as mentioned the beef quality was really good and I ate it but it was not a real international standard T-Bone Steak from my point of view. If the filet is missing due to a different spanish cut please name it in the menu card. Everything else is missleading especially for tourists like us. I also read that this happend a few times before and they did not change it in the menu card.
I asked the waiter why there is no filet on the other side. He said this is a Spanish cut and Spanish T-Bone. So far no further comment. I don't wanted to start a discussion. Also caused by my bad spanish. ;-)
For this special cut 34 Euros was overpriced in my opinion.
Regarding the service Team: The service was fast but we always felt a little uncomfortable. We felt always like we had to eat as fast as possible, leave our money and go because they need the table for the next guests. First time that I've experienced that in Spain but maybe that was only our personal feeling.
Pricing is a little bit higher for restaurants in Alicante but we knew that from the beginning.
Long Story short. Maybe you have a better experience there but for us it seems not to be the right place for having this 100% restaurant experience in Alicante. The price/performance/service ratio was not ok for us.
Greetings...
Read moreVisited twice (Thursday and Friday evening) on a city break staying at the nearby Hotel Maya. The reason for visiting first night was the proximity to the hotel and after being told it was fantastic by someone leaving on another evening. If you like meat you will not be disappointed. First visit we had the meat skewer and lamb chops, both served with chips. Both were delicious. We also had a brownie and tiramisu which were good. Second night we had the meat skewer and an Argentine entrecote. Again, very good. The chips here are absolutely delicious so don't choose the salad option! We did have a house salad on the side which had a good variety of ingredients. Both days we had a local wine Merina Hill?? Very nice! We shared a brownie. However, what made this place a 5* was the presence of chef Luis Cortés on the Friday visit. He oversaw the restaurant so was interacting with customers. The man is a comic genius. He made us laugh so much.... and gave us some complimentary tirimasu and liqueurs. Although there were tourists in, the majority of the customers were Spanish and some obviously regulars. This speaks volumes. To anyone visiting, try the out of town places, try the less showy places, you will have a far better meal...
Read moreSo yesterday we booked a table for 2. We had a really nice welcome, and ambient in the restourant is really nice, from the door u could smell grilled steaks and rosemary. We ordered 1kg t-bone steak for 2 which comes with salad and fries, price is 65e. We waited for food to be done around 25min which is really okay. Waiter brought us Rib eye steak (ill leave a picture so u can see on ur own), we told him that this is not T-bone, expecting that maybe thay made a mistake or something but no, he was telling us that this is definetely T-bone steak. We saw that there is no point of discussing about it, and enjoyed our rib eye which was perfect. I give 1 for service because waiter know that he brought us Rib eye, not a T-bone, but he decided to act stupid and lie, because probably he thought we are young couple that doesnt know the difference between 2 cuts. But unfortunately for them, me and girlfriend are veterinerians and steak lovers so we know a little bit about animal anatomy... But at the end meat was really good, it will be really nice thing from the waiter if he came, told us that they dont have T-bone anymore and recomended us a Rib eye instead, it will be...
