Aberdeen Steak House — Restaurant in Arona

I don't usually review places unless they're exceptional or dire. This is a honest truthful account from myself aged 61 and my wife aged 59. We went in here because they were serving sole. The waiter asked us if we wanted drinks, I had a small beer, my wife had a coke. Then we were asked what we would like to eat. I said I'd like the fish and chips please, the fish on the menu said it was sole. I asked, is it sole? He said no, but it's like sole. I said it says sole on the board upstairs and it says sole here. He said, it's similar but not sole, I ordered a Ceaser salad instead. My wife said, I'd like the soul, prawns and Canadian potatoes please, he said ok. I said, is that sole? He said yes , it is. My wife visited the toilets whilst we waited for our lunch, she came back and said the ladies toilets were closed and had to use the gents and they were absolutely disgusting. Our meals came, I must admit mine was ok, no problems, but my wife's definitely wasn't sole. It was so soft and mushy and covered in a sauce that completely masked it's taste. We don't think they even sell sole to anyone, it must be a local cheap fish that my wife got served. On a side note, the waiter seemed to take an instant dislike to us when we questioned the fish and chips being sole. We were polite all the time trying to use our nicest Spanish with him, He didn't even say Grasious as we left even though we both said it to him and left him a 10% tip. ( Sorry if I spelled it incorrectly). Wish we'd never left him a tip now. I can only review our first ever visit to an Aberdeen Steakhouse, I'm sure others are fantastic but this one on the seafront on the edge of Los Cristianos is only 1 star from...

BOTTOM LINE THIS PLACE IS AWFUL.

Read the other reviews, the 5 star ones are from paid reviewers or staff. most real reviews say just how bad it is.

First off. Aberdeen steak house. No Aberdeen beef to be seen.

Secondly. Ordered the food and then received the dishes missing things we had ordered, had to ask twice to get them. Poor service from the waiters.

The waiters were rude, we spoke Spanish but they didn't even speak to us just dropped the dish and walked away.

The steak. Don't even get started. I ordered a rare steak and I got an old boot, overdone and tasteless. Pepper sauce was gelatinous and bland. A tiny amount of cold badly cooked chips and some vegetables which included a whole uncooked tomato.

Overall a tiny dish, high cost for the meal, not cooked at all like I asked and the worst part of all is....THEY TRIED TO CHARGE MORE THAN THE MENU PRICE. Scam artists.

My friend ordered the pepper steak and it was priced extra with the pepper sauce as an additional side, when we mentioned this the waiter got very angry and almost refused to accept it until he showed the menu and we proved him wrong. He tried telling us we ordered something different. The Audacity of the man FML.

DON'T GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TERRIBLE FOOD, RUDE SERVICE AND A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

The Surf bar just up the road is so much better quality and...

Avoid Take a wide birth round this joint ** First ever review I've had to make. Suggested this place for our evening meal as there was eleven of us in total. What a embarrassment. My friend ordered a Chicken Curry and he got a Chicken Kiev, when he did get his curry the poor sod was eating it alone as we all had finished. The kids Chicken nuggets if that's what they where were disgusting. Another friend returned her steak as it was wrong. The waiter dropped a wine glass on our table and smashed everywhere. I was wearing most of it with the remainder on my wife and child. Before we got our meal they placed some nice warm bread rolls which I thought was nice of them. Turned out they put it on the bill because we ate them. Never even ordered them. Check the small print in the main menu. Which we didn't see because we had a special set menu. They just laugh at us when we disputed it and told us we enjoyed them. Also we ordered an extra 2 beers during our dinner, only 1 came. Guess what...2 was added on the bill too. This did eventually got taken off the bill. Overall experience was awful and a shame we had to waste our hard earned money....
