We were looking with my wife for a place to get some sea-food. While looking at the outside menu, the local Spanish waiter came to us, asked if he could help us. Not pushy, more of a "I am here if you need any help." This I like when you're not pushed or rushed. We decided to have a seat, as the menu was offering a nice variety of squids, fishes, prawns and so on. We did a great choice, as we picked the menu for 2 with sea-food plus sangria. The 2 Spanish waiters were really nice as I asked first for Sangria then for the menu, they understood to charge it as part of the sea-food menu. They prepared 2 tables for us as they knew it's going to be a big plate (we didn't have an exact idea how big it is, and it was above our expectations). The sangria was tasty and refreshing, the food was amazing. We definitely enjoyed our lunch! We had also the unpleasant experience to have as neighbors at the table next to us 3 tourists guys who were making bad jokes and listening to loud music on their phones, which were asked by the personnel to pay what they had and leave. Very prompt waiters and kept the decency of the place. When we were about to pay, one of the waiters brought us 2 shots of honey rum from the house. Definitely...
Read moreEdit - I wrote the same review on Trip Advisor and had the Scottish guy from there reply. Very rude, called me a liar and generally being a bad ambassador to his sub-standard establishment. His name is Paul Nimo so make sure to say 'hi' as you pass it by. See photo for the contempt he feels for his customers.
I've championed this place since I first came in 2011. I was also the one that added it to Google Maps. It was always a cut above...but not anymore. Firstly, the menu is much smaller than before. Less choice and some of their top dishes like the kebabs and Breaded Mushrooms are gone. Secondly - how much?! Beer is still €1.50 but it's around €10 for a starter alone. Main courses more, but the quality is way less than it used to be. Their Lasagne used to be second to none, now it's a dry, overcooked mess. You don't even get little shots with the bill anymore. Used to be our regular go-to, but won't be going back anytime soon. It would seem we aren't alone in our critique as we've never seen it so empty. In fact there were only us and another couple eating, the other patrons were just having drinks at the front. It always used to be heaving before. The decline of a once great...
Read moreWhat a lovely surprise this place was. A super friendly greeter named Auguste persuaded us to stop for a beer our walk. He was so welcoming and very funny to watch interacting with other people passing by.
The beer is cold, the sangria is probably the best in tenerife and is sold by the glass rather than a jug so suited me perfectly.
We popped in a day later, and Auguste recognised us and was genuinely pleased we came back.
Three days later, we were greeted with big hugs from him as we called in for lunch.
A lovely bar with really genuine staff who just want...
