Restaurant Review: Abanic, Barcelona – A Culinary Masterpiece
During my recent visit to Barcelona, I had the pleasure of dining at Abanic, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the perfect tone—warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant.
The highlight, of course, was the food. Every dish we tried was an absolute triumph. The prawns were incredibly fresh, bursting with natural sweetness and perfectly cooked to retain their delicate texture. The beef cheeks were nothing short of spectacular—tender, rich, and infused with deep, slow-cooked flavors that melted in the mouth. The salmon was flawlessly prepared, with a beautifully crisp exterior and succulent, flavorful flesh. And the paella—a true masterpiece—boasted perfectly cooked rice, infused with layers of flavor that showcased the essence of Spanish cuisine.
Beyond the impeccable food, the service was equally outstanding. Mica, our server, went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was nothing short of perfect. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, Mica made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the evening.
Abanic is, without a doubt, a must-visit for anyone in Barcelona. The combination of extraordinary food, exceptional service, and a wonderful atmosphere makes it an unforgettable dining experience. I will absolutely be returning on my next visit...
Read moreThis was my son and my second dinner here over 10 days. We were so lucky that they were able to seat us on our first night in Barcelona, even though the place was full. The beef cheek blew us away and set the standard for Spain in which no other restaurant except one rose to. We loved the music, ambience, service and most of all, the food. The Rioja wine by the glass was better than all of the restaurants we visited after. So after a long and wonderful 10 days of eating across Barcelona and San Sebastián (and other nearby spots), we returned on our way out of the country. Again, the food was phenomenal. Everything was as amazing as we remembered it. The service by Deborah, Bryan and Glen was top notch. They spoke English and helped us understand we were ordering too much for two persons. They were attentive without being overwhelming. I was in the service industry for years before my career and deeply appreciate great, authentic and kind service. The staff all helped each other, from behind the bar, to the seating and serving. I love that. It shows care and passion. This place has all you want from a restaurant in spades. It’s a warm, beautiful and charming spot with the great quality and flavors of top rated Michelin restaurants. Unbelievable. Really good portions too. Helpful hint: I’m Arab. The pita bread is amazing. We’ve ordered half the menu at this point. It was top notch...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing. I came here because it was late and I wanted a good meal, not fast food. Most kitchens nearby close at 10 or 11. They have their kitchen open until 2:30am everyday! The food was beyond delicious and bursting with flavor. Mind you, I came at midnight. The accommodations are wonderful! I got the Pincho de Sobrasado (eggplant, goat cheese and honey toast) as a starter and Costilla de ternera Angus (rib) for the meal. I did NOT expect the toast to have that much flavor. I thought the eggplant was some kind of marrow or meat but it was eggplant. The texture and taste were beyond wonderful. The rib was so soft and fell off the bone. The side that complimented it was delicious. The portion was HUGE!
Very reasonable prices but I did spend a little more since I was so hungry and ordered more than I needed (and a cocktail)
Mihail and Cherry were so accommodating and hospitable. Everyone was nice but they were the two I conversed with the most. Cherry and I had a great chat about culture and Mihail gave me a great recommendation for a site to visit (Sacred Heart). Thank you again,...
