Hidden gem in Barcelona - a must try without blessing from youtubers
The food, service and price are exceptional! Each dishes are unique and can be differentiated from the high star Tapas restaurant..
I was about to wait for the comment wait till home but you just can wait when you had a bad experience in other restaurant Vivo not a while ago. I would feel unfair not offering comment to Igueldo!
This is true hidden gem in town - every dishes are well presented and at the best timing - exceptional service that make it perfect when staff got to know very well if you are abt to finish the dish, next then come.
The experience started with free appetizer. The very special Beef Bone Marrow, served with crispy toast and salad for just €10 (compared to a coin size red shrimp tartar of €8 each in Vivo Tapas).
The duck tartare! Instead of normal beef one! Wonderfully seasoned and with home made sauce!
The croquette changes frequently i guess, crispy and full of filling and just €3 ~ what i can complain?
Foie gras with beef fillet - we just ordered one for sharing as too full. The exceptional staff well divided the dish in 2 and serve to me and my partners without the issue of sharing! The beef sauce is so nice and meat is soft! It is just €28
Overall, star cant tell truth! it is more than exceptional and particularly service can tell which is the restaurant and chef serve wholeheartedly - particularly after my another bad experience in a tapas rest in town...

It was my last night in Barcelona and my friend, Colleen and I wanted to treat ourselves to a fancy meal out. We had a reservation at 21:00 and were greeted by a lovely girl who had a large smile and welcomed us in. Our table was right next to the window of the kitchen, where we were able to see the busy kitchen, creating delicious food. The ambiance was fun, sophisticated and very special. I highly recommend coming to this lovely restaurant for a special occasion or just a really fabulous date night. Every part of the evening made me feel spoiled. We even got the charming chef, Gonzalo, coming out to greet us and explain the menu. My favorite part was the anchovies with smoked butter. Very tasty. The butter melted in your mouth and together with the fish, created an explosion of flavors Our other favorites was the omelet and king crab. Our entire meal focused on fish and we were happy Gonzalo took such nice care of us. The staff was very kind and made sure we were attended to. Especially thanks to everyone who laughed at my jokes and allowed me to speak English,, my broken Spanish would have been torturous for all. Colleen and I finished with the soufflé. Every part of our time at the restaurant was perfect. Thank you Gonzalo and team for a wonderful evening. I am very excited...
Read moreThis restaurant was such a gem! I had the best dinner here in my short visit to Barcelona. We were a party of 8 and they seated us in a very nice, private room.
Every dish was faultless. Delicious anchovy toast, meaty and fresh oysters, high quality jamón iberico, fresh tomatoes, etc. The most exceptional dish of the night was the fish of the day. I forgot the name of the fish (Igueldo, please remind me if you are reading this), but it was flavorful, meaty, tender, cooked to perfection. The steak was also perfect! In Spain, they work with cows that are older in age so the meat could sometimes get chewy but not here! The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned; the beef has a great flavor. The peppers that came with it were amazing as well.
Onto desserts, they were all heavenly and not overly sweet. Favorite was the grilled peaches with ice cream. I could tell they work with very seasonal ingredients because all produce tasted amazing!
Lastly, the prices were extremely good for this high quality of food (please keep prices the same)! The service was very good, everyone was super pleasant. We can’t wait to...
