Seems to be where the locals eat. Pumping with atmosphere as the waiter yells orders over the crowd to the chefs, never missing a beat. The menus are scrawled on chalk boards above your heads and no, it doesn’t come in English. But that’s the beauty of a place like this. It’s loud, it’s rustic and it’s filled with character... and people. We ordered fried squid, chorizo, piementos de padron (little friend green peppers- not spicy), Russian salad and croquettas (filled with ham, hard to say what else). Each dish was delicious. Very ‘no-frills-attached’ but super enjoyable and again, just brilliant for the price. FYI- Russian salad in Spain is not what you would come to expect of a normal salad- no greens to be seen, much closer to a potato salad, but very tasty! Our entire meal cost €22 and included 2 beers. I’m uncertain if you could reserve a table, I would assume not but be aware, it gets busy. It’s definitely suited to smaller groups and those with children and prams would of course be welcomed, but the venue is quite small. Staff were friendly and attentive but didn’t have time for small talk as the place was very busy. They were very receptive to us ordering in English however we have some concept of a Spanish tapas menu, so he didn’t have to explain it to us. Not sure how that may have panned out if we had needed him to, due to the busyness of the restaurant. We loved it here for an authentic tapas experience without the pomp and ceremony you can sometimes find in the Born area.

Been thinking to try this place on my last few trips to Barcelona but didn’t get a chance. On my last day of my most recent visit, I finally got to try this place!!! As per their name, their specialty is Pulpo, and they certainly delivered in a top mark way. Galician style pulpo is one of the best in the country and this place SMASHED it!!!!! It was delicious, well cooked and seasoned!!!!! We were there just to have pulpo and beer. Staff was friendly at the time were there and this place is now on my favourite list in Barcelona! I didn’t try other food but from the look of them at the counter (and I know my tapas) they are definitely look traditional!) Well done team (and thanks for letting me to take photo of your pulpo!!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 see you next time!

The best of the place might be the atmosphere, wherever you you look at you will find happy faces (on the customer's end). From all the food I tried, I would definitely come back (I don't believe I will be back) for the callos. The Spanish tortilla was flat and quite cold despite being in the microwave for ages, I wasn't impressed by the octopus, and I had it both ways, gallega and grill. I might have been unlucky as there was a change of roster at the time I was there, I don't believe there was any kind of conversation in between staff leaving and the one taking over cause we needed to request our tapas again and again. The portions are small, but the beer is quite cheap compared to other businesses in the area.

Scamming, appalling staff, rude and disrespectful. We were excited to sit down for some drinks. Once seated, we ordered a jug of sangria and a beer for our group. We were going to be purchasing several rounds of drinks as a group. The waiter said we need to order food, we decided to order some small plates of olives as we had just had dinner. He immediately became very rude and said this is not enough for the table. We had never heard of this being a thing and it was stated anywhere. We explained that we were sorry and had just eaten. Again, we were very keen to spend a lot on drinks. He became very rude/angry, immediately printed us the bill and slapped it loudly down on the table. We were very shocked by this behaviour. He proceeded to stand there waiting for us to pay and wanting us to leave. We quickly finished our drinks. Upon leaving, we paid for the bill. We chose to pay in euros, however, he quickly cancelled the transaction and clicked the pay in AUD. Therefore, charging us more. We called him out on this and he played it off as an accident, although he very clearly clicked cancel then AUD currency. It was a scam for us to pay more due to the conversion rate. The other staff did not care. This member was rude and arrogant. What he did charging us in another currency when we clearly chose euros was illegal. Do not trust or recommend...

The food is ok, but the service is unacceptable. Do not recommend to try especially when you are tourists. They charged us 10% more for sitting in the terrace rather than inside, that's the first red flag, but well they told us in advance so we were fine with that. We ordered a jug of sangria and tortilla. They told us the jug will be 1 liter, but when they came it's full of orange and ice, and only enough to fill 2 cups. When we ask it's too little, the waiter did not bother to explain, take the jug and refill them (with even more oranges and ice so the second jug is not even the same as the first one). My friends are Latin American so of course they can communicate well with the waiter. And when the bill came, they charged us 2 jugs of sangria while we did not even order the second one. Other guys working in the restaurant even came out to defend the waiter even they do not even know what we are complaining about, and the waiter did not even try to explain the situation. They even threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. In the end we paid only what we ordered, and when we left, they still continued to insult us.

This restaurant does not even deserve a single star.
