If you are searching for an enjoyable Vietnamese brunch outing in the lively El Born district of Barcelona, you need not look further than this delightful restaurant. Here, you can savor the traditional and delicious Pho soup that the place is known for. With its captivating Asian-inspired decoration and location amidst the busy streets, this restaurant can transport you to Vietnam’s rich culinary heritage. Upon entering, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with the aromas of fragrant herbs and spices wafting through the air. The interior is tastefully decorated, with traditional Vietnamese elements like vibrant paintings and soft lighting that creates a cozy ambiance.
The brunch menu offers an array of mouthwatering dishes that combine Vietnamese flavours with creative twists. I started My brunch journey with a sweet and fruity pancake (Which I almost forgot I was sharing with a friend xD). For a classic Vietnamese brunch option, the Pho soup is a must-try. Bursting with layers of aromatic flavors, this soul-warming dish features a delicate broth, perfectly cooked rice noodles, and tender slices of meat. Garnish your bowl with fresh bean sprouts, aromatic basil leaves, zesty lime wedges, and fiery chili slices, allowing you to customize the dish to your liking.
Beyond Pho, the menu boasts an assortment of other Vietnamese delicacies that will delight your taste buds. Sink your teeth into Banh Mi sandwiches, which combine crusty baguettes with flavorful fillings like succulent chicken satay, accompanied by pickled veggies, and fragrant cilantro.
The restaurant offers fresh and vibrant spring rolls for those seeking lighter options. The translucent rice paper wraps encase a medley of fresh herbs, crunchy vegetables, and your choice of protein, such as juicy shrimp or marinated tofu. Dip them into the accompanying hoisin peanut sauce for an explosion of flavors.
The restaurant also features a well-curated selection of Vietnamese-inspired beverages to complement your brunch feast. Sip on refreshing fruit-infused iced teas, and tangy lemongrass ginger coolers, or indulge in a traditional Vietnamese dessert, such as sweet sticky rice with coconut milk and fresh tropical fruits.
Whether you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or looking to embark on a gastronomic journey, this delightful brunch spot in El Born promises a memorable experience. Immerse yourself in Vietnam’s flavors, aromas, and cultural richness while enjoying a leisurely brunch that combines tradition with innovation, leaving you with a satisfied palate and...
Read moreTo be honest I struggled the even give them two stars. There where many things I felt was wrong. I ordered the menu, with chicken rice and 4 entries. I felt like the only thing that was good was the beef roll at start and the mango salad maybe.
But I felt paying 15 for the menu was too much for the quality I got.
The main course was rice and the weekly curry. I tried to eat with sticks as you should, and as I usually do. But the curry was so light, pretty much half my food was still in the bowl after I took all I could with the sticks. At the end I had to ask for a spoon, since it felt wrong to leave half the food on the dish.
The place says fresh and healthy, but actually while eating I even saw the cook use the microwave to heat up some food. That's also a big no for me. You can always heat up food at the comfort of your own home for less then half the price. Why would I bother to go to a restaurant if they just heat up food in the microwave.
The last unfortunate thing was the coffee. Vietnamese drip coffee is one of my most favourite coffees in the world. I have been to a handful of Vietnamese resturants , and usually the taste is very close to chocolate I would say. In this restaurant the way they did it was correct, but I don't even think they used vietnamese coffee... The coffee was super runny and it felt like I was drinking sink water.
I hope they just had...
Read moreI came to La Vietnamita for the first time 4 years ago on my summer holidays. I came across ir by chance and gave it a go. I was so impressed by the quality of the food, the flavours and the team that I have been thinking about this restaurant ever since. So this summer i came back to Barcelona and went straight away. The experience was even better. The guys serving us were so cool, funny and friendly. The menu.... omg! I can't emphasise enough how GOOD it is. We tried the summer rolls (fresh mango, cucumber, avocado wrapped in rice paper with soya sauce), chicken and heura satay skewers with peanut satay sauce and bbq cauliflower. As main courses we chose the chicken and the Tofu curry. What a beautiful vegan curry full of flavours. Dessert was a typical vietnamese one: che chuoi, with tapioca pearls, coconut milk, bananas and berries. The menu is so appealing you would like to try it all. I am not exaggerating this restaurant will blow your mind away. It is with no doubt my favourite one...
