Beach Garden Barceloneta — Restaurant in Barcelona

WARNING! Beach Garden Barceloneta is a dangerous Tapas, Paella Chiringuito. I was violently attacked by an employee of this Barcelona chiringuito.

Due to my injuries, I ended up in the hospital and filing a Mossos police report.

The incident was on my 4th visit to the Barceloneta restaurant ordering the usual 10€ burger and drink offer. I also ordered a second glass of red wine, which costs 4,50€. My total bill should have been 14,50€. However, the waiter presented me a 21€ bill. It included a 12€ fee just for the burger and a 9€ fee for two glasses of red wine.

When I contested the erroneous charges, the waiter said the bill was correct. So, I decided to dispute the overcharge with management and ended up arguing with three employees. One of them was the employee, who struck me. He and another waiter argued that the bill was correct. They insisted that wine is not included in the restaurant's 10€ burger plus drink offer. I argued the fact that Beach Garden Barceloneta advertises a 10€ burger plus drink offer on a blackboard at their main entrance, which does not exclude any drinks. I added that on prior visits I only paid 10€ for a burger and red wine. The two employees insisted I was lying. But the third employee, Santiago, who happens to be a manager, said I was correct. He also requested a waiter to correct my bill to reflect the correct 10€ burger plus drink offer, plus the additional glass of red wine.

As I paid the 14,50€ bill, the employee behind the bar whi continued to argue, walked toward me, struck me in the face and knocked me down to the floor.

Due to the attack, I sustained multiple facial and injuries. I also suffered a ruptured pinky finger on my right hand.

In conclusion, Barcelona tourists and locals should beware eating at Beach Garden Barceloneta. Eat at this Barcelona beach restaurant at your own risk. Not only are the chiringuito personnel highly combative and unprofessional. But the experience could threaten your life and...

A midday snack, by Spanish standards. My wife had the burger special which was a good deal for a half decent frozen burger, fries and a beer. I had a pint, nicely full and market priced, and nachos. DON'T ORDER THE NACHOS!!!!! You WILL be disappointed. Friendly staff but slow and inattentive. Kitchen was fast, but I had to chase the extra jalapeños after VERY SPECIFICALLY asking for lots of them when I ordered. It was very obvious our server didn't tell the kitchen of my request, and when I reminded her, it took twice as long to deliver a small dish of them as the original food order took. And the jalapeños were the mildest ones I've ever eaten, without a lie. After actually leaving my seat to find out where they were and approaching staff, they showed up. The look on my servers face was ' whatever.....' She couldn't care less. And they charged us for the extra jalapeños!! Dirty plates, cans with black liquid around them, badly washed cutlery, dirty tables full of food from previous customers, cockroaches walking on the floor and bottles of water for 3 euros!

We went in the morning and the waiter in blue was super rude, unfriendly and unconcerned, we tried to ask him for the menu three times and he totally ignored us, we had to get up to get it. He started shouting at one of the waiters in front of the customers, it was very uncomfortable for us

They brought the food without cutlery and napkins, and when we asked for it he got angry and gave it to us as if he was doing us a favour

No organisation and no good service, if you want a tourist trap this is the perfect place. Good views and right on the beach, but even under a bridge they'll treat you better than here
