Cafè del Born — Restaurant in Barcelona

The location is very good, they´ve got a terrace too but the service... Well, I think it was the worst experience in my life... The women who work there (including the owners I suppose) are so unfriendly, it´s incredible. We went there a couple of times and thought ok may be they are having a bad day or something, and gave them another chance... But after this last time we will definitely not come back! We entered there and said hello but didn´t get the answer or offer to take a sit. Well, we ourselves took the menus and sat. In some minutes as nobody approached we called the waitress and made the order. The "natural" smoothies they had announced on the desk were not natural, it was some kind of concentrates from the bottles and they just add water so we preferred orange juice (was very sour). We waited 25min for the "vegetal" sandwich, then we asked whats up with it they said they are still preparing it cuz we ordered it warm! But the worst thing she answered to my interrogatory look was "IT IS HOMEMADE SANDWICH". Well, I HOPE! Cuz we dont go there to pay almost 10euros for the sandwich from carefour or whatever! When they finally brought us the sandwich it was ridiculous, photo attached. And after all this they even didn´t wish us a good day, didn´t say goodbye, didn´t smile one single time and even didn´t look at us!

This place could be much better. The owners should hire staff who like working with people or go home and do something else cuz they don´t change and I don´t understand why they are there if they hate their job and...

I am utterly disappointed with my recent visit to this establishment. We were enjoying our third round of drinks when, completely unprovoked, we were told to leave in a very unpleasant and aggressive manner so they could seat new customers. We had ordered our previous drinks only ten minutes before, which is hardly enough time to be forced out.

When we mentioned that we were planning to order another round and needed some time to look at the menu, another waitress brought us the bill and demanded we leave, again in a very aggressive tone. I told the waitress that if we were being forced to leave, we would not pay the bill, to which she replied, "yeah, ok." It was clear she just wanted us gone, even if it meant not paying.

This is the most bizarre strategy I have ever encountered in all my years in the hospitality industry. I am still stunned by the entire experience and sincerely hope this way of treating paying customers isn't becoming a trend.
