Don't worry, please find below my complete review (the missing wheels of the bicycle).
First of all it started with arriving there. I was alone because my friends arrived a little later. I was seated on at a table for 4. The waiter came by about 5 times within 4 minutes to ask what I wanted to order. Of course I didn't make up my mind that quick (why, you'll find below) also I was still waiting for my friends to arrive. This clearly gave me the feeling, if I wouldn't order straight away, I'd be kicked out in no time. Someone else could replace me and make some big order.
Anyway, I managed to delay her and my friends soon arrived. So it was 12:17 pm and I ordered a cafe con leche. According to the waiter after 12 there would not be coffee served (which I find absolutely ridiculous (of course only my personal opinion)). As the owner, you should maybe travel the world a little bit, maybe soon you'd be realising that this made up rule only exists in your chiringuito. I guess the reason being, alcohol costs more, making more money, quicker.
Next thing why I'd NEVER come back to your chiringuito... it was only just after 12 and the music was turned up to insane levels. Me (and my 3 colleagues) had the feeling it was way too much, and we couldn't even talk anymore to each other without screaming. The volume was turned up to a point that it was actually extremely uncomfortable (I wonder if legal noise limits were completely neglected). So I asked the waiter if there would be any chance to lower the volume just a little bit. She (instead of showing some empathy and customer service, that she was lacking from the beginning anyway) basically started laughing and said "yeah yeah". Of course nothing had changed.
Since I am not in the mood screaming to my friends while trying to just have a normal conversation we soon enough decided to leave and ordered the bill. After having had quite a few different drinks and quite a bit of food, we decided to split the bill. Obviously, the extremely empathetic waiter was saying that it wouldn't be possible to pay each individually (which is the biggest nonsense I've ever heard considering that EVERYWHERE in Barcelona you can do it without a problem).
I hope you take these above comments to improve (I know you won't because it was more than obvious that this chiringuito is only looking out for quick earned money from some tourists rather than offering a nice place to hang out also for...
Read moreDefinitely to be avoided. First of all, ridiculous prices of renting sunbeds and of beverages, but that's acceptable sort of... - you're aware of how much you're willing to spend so... just be warned. The problem are some incompetent, rude (even aggresive) stuff members - we've ordered two drinks to the sunbeds, then after some period of waiting were requested to pay, which we did, expecting the drinks will come in a minute or two later, but they never came. After another period of waiting I've asked the server if she perhaps didn't forget about our order, got some muttering as a response but assumed that was a way of saying "ok, I'll look into it" - how wrong was I... after another period of waiting (it was already an hour at least), we've made our way to the bar and explained the situation - the waitress responded in extremely aggresive manner, yelling at us, and questioning - "Why have we paid for drinks, if she haven't brough them", which literally made us speachless... We've got our drinks eventually (thanks to other stuff member's courtesy, because the lady kept yelling all the time), but our last vacation day was ruined already, so, well... with such high prices the owner of this "restaurant" should really look into who is being hired. Anyway - not recommended, unless you like being shouted at and spending enourmous...
Read moreSummary: Relaxing chilled vibe situated on the beach with great food.
As part of our Barcelona trip, myself and my girlfriend visited the coastline beaches and came across this super cool bar. It was around lunchtime and we were feeling hungry so decided to take a seat in the modern Mokai Beach Bar. The situation of the bar is surrounded by sand and is suitable for all to enjoy, including families. Although fairly pricey, we ordered a couple of drinks to quench our thirst in the warm Spanish sun. We followed these up by treating ourselves to a really tasty burger, loaded nachos and olives all to share. The food was really fresh and arrived fairly quickly. The waitress who served us was friendly and smiley which enhanced our experience at the relaxing beach bar. Once we polished off our eats, we asked the waitress if we could order another round of drinks. She proposed to have these brought out to us on the loungers located on the beach (which belong to the bar free of charge) along with our bill. This was a really great touch as we felt like we were really being looked after but with a completely chilled approach. I would definitely recommend Mokai Beach Bar to anyone who is visiting Barcelona’s lovely sandy beaches. The experience at this bar really made our day a...
