La Cantonada — Restaurant in Barcelona

This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had... My girlfriend and I visited the restaurant for lunch and decided to order from the daily menu. After the appetizer, we waited almost an hour for the main course, while other guests who arrived after us received their meals before we did.

We were approached by four different servers, none of whom seemed to know what they were doing. No one at the restaurant spoke English, and one waitress even imitated a pig to explain a dish with pork! It sounds unbelievable, but it really happened...

When we finally received our food, it turned out to be the wrong dish – not what we ordered at all. We decided not to complain because we were too hungry and didn’t want to wait again. Besides, no one would have understood us anyway, as no one spoke English.

In the end, although we had ordered the daily menu, which included dessert, we decided to leave without even trying it. The service was so terrible that we couldn’t bear to stay any longer. We paid the full price and left...

I wouldn’t recommend this...

I usually eat lunch here and it's good quality and affordable. I had a problem once, but they changed the dish and didn't charge me. But today they raised the price dramatically (18.5 instead of 11.5), but the quality went down. I ordered shrimp, they brought me only five, and even they weren't good. Not cleaned, with brains, guts, and other inner parts in oil, it was impossible to eat. When I tried to remove the shell, oil splashed on me and I became dirty. When I explained the problem, they didn't change or remove the dish from my bill this time. Since I eat there 2-3 times a week, I'm really upset. I won't...

Some of the worst food and service I've ever dealt with at any restaurant. Calamari was undercooked, vegan burger was undercooked to the point of tasting bitter, salted prawns were caked in salt, chips were worse than frozen oven chips, pork shoulder was salted to heavily and the potatas bravas was the only thing that wasn't completely inedible. Waiters ignored us multiple times, tried to tack on a charge for a €16 bottle of wine and avoided us when we confronted him about it. I find it hard to believe any of the 5 star reviews...
