El Tianguis — Restaurant in Barcelona

First of all, make sure you book a reservation in advance. The food is spectacular! The suadero tacos are phenomenal as well as the shrimp tacos. We started with the nachos Ignacio’s and they put every other nachos we’ve had to shame. The tinga de pollo quesadilla was absolutely delicious, especially with the chipotle sauce they provided. We also tried the chorizo tacos, and while it wasn’t our favorite, adding the green sauce made it pretty good. Their margaritas are also fantastic. We came back twice mainly for the nachos and the guava and mango margaritas. The staff were wonderful and made the whole experience even better. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar, as we didn’t have a reservation the first night, and loved talking with the bar tender. We will most definitely be back whenever we are in...

I LOVE this place, the food is so good! Really amazing and authentic flavours. As someone who has spent a lot of time in Mexico I can assure you that this is true. I love that they have Nopal and Huitlacoche which are not so common to find here in Europe. The lunch menu for 14€ (March 2025) is also a really fair deal. And it's a dream for any coeliac as the kitchen is 100% gluten free and they are also knowledgeable about the topic. You can eat in peace and enjoy the flavours of Mexican cuisine. Only the desserts and drinks are not all gluten free so make sure you check which ones are fine. I had a homemade lemonade and it was refreshing without risk of gluten cross contamination. If you are looking for a great place with the authentic taquería feeling in Barcelona, THIS IS IT! We had an amazing Agua de Tamarindo, shared a Ceviche de Camarón , a Quesadilla de Cochinita Pibil, then had a Taco de Nopal each (and I sinned and had a Taco de Chorizo, but shhh don't tell it to my diet) and washed it down with a Michelada Cubana that we accompanied with an order of Totopos. Guys, seriously ... The food was excellent, the music was great and it's low volume, so you can talk without it being a nuisance...
