We were walking in Barcelona last night, looking for a place for some food. I’ve been in Barcelona many times before, I was craving for a good paella!
We asked for a few starters first... mussels and tuna pastries... both disgusting, but I was hungry so I managed to eat them.
My paella arrived as I asked, with just mussels and clams. It was atrociously burnt, I couldn’t eat it all because half of it was attached to the pan. My girlfriend had salad, what could possibly go wrong with that? She had something totally different from what she expected. Sangria was ok, I guess.
But wait, there’s more! Price was over €63, with a surcharge for the clams in the paella (the waiter told me beforehand, but c’mon, you took everything else away from it, why would you charge me for those few clams?), and a terrace fee (which wasn’t mentioned anywhere). My girlfriend is right: if you’re hungry and you walk into this restaurant, just buy a bottle of water and go...
Read moreOutward appearance this place seems inviting, but as soon as the menu was shown , there was a lack of sophistication which doesn’t manner if they would have served home style cooking. Our sangria was without fanfare and when our salad arrived it was plain but the indgrients were fresh. When the paella arrive for two, you could count the number of shrimp and mussels on one hand. Unfortunately as compared to various places in the neighbourhood, there was a lacking of falvor. What was most ridiculous is that 2-3 of the 10 deserts were not available and when the server presented the check, my wife noticed they had included a 4 euro charge for sitting in the terrace. She confronted him and he took it off the check but we thought that was a cash grab and not representivetive of the fine establishments on Barecelona. There was no mention of tariffs to sit in the Terrance , not a classy...
Read moreDO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT! I ordered a pizza and what turned up was a frozen pizza and I was charged 12€ for it! The potates braves was a bunch of frozen potatos covered in ketchup and Mayo. So disappointing and a bit of a joke really to charge that much and serve awful food that has come straight from the frozen aisle in the cheapest supermarket. Nice location I’ll give it that but I’m sure there are plenty other restaurants on this street that actually cook the food they serve. Also they don’t include VAT on the menu so expect a shock when the...
