Honest Greens, Barcelona: A Review
Honest Greens in Barcelona is a stylish eatery with a modern, inviting atmosphere. The food presentation is undeniably beautiful, with vibrant colors and artful arrangements that are sure to please the eye. However, while the dishes are aesthetically pleasing, they may leave you feeling somewhat unsatisfied in terms of both nutritional value and portion size.
The ordering system is a bit unusual, requiring you to place your order at the counter and then return to collect your drinks when your number is called. While the food is brought to your table, this extra trip to the counter can be a minor inconvenience.
As the name suggests, Honest Greens is a meat-free establishment. While they offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, those seeking a hearty, protein-packed meal might find themselves wanting more. The focus on visual appeal seems to overshadow the nutritional density of the dishes, leaving one feeling less than fully satiated.
Overall:
Honest Greens is a decent option for a light, visually appealing meal in a trendy setting. However, if you're looking for a truly nutritious and filling dining experience, you might want to explore other options.
Pros:
Beautiful, Instagram-worthy food presentation Modern and inviting atmosphere
Cons:
Lack of substantial nutritional value Small portion sizes Inconvenient drink collection system No...
Read moreI have no words. My friend and I came across the location near Plaça de Catalunya on a whim, and I was initially sceptical: After all, we were only in Barcelona for a few days and had plenty of Spanish cuisine to experience. I’m so thankful that my friend insisted on going in, because I think it was the most memorable meal I’ve ever had!
Everything was breathtaking: My eyes were immediately drawn to the rainbow of ingredients that made up the prep area, then to the vibrant hues of the drinks bar and finally to the giant tree standing proud in the middle of the two-storey dining area.
Choosing just one option seemed impossible without simply closing my eyes and pointing somewhere on the menu, because every plate I saw being made looked and sounded incredible. I ultimately went for the falafel with salads, as well as the roast carrots. I’ll spare the details and just say this: Never have I felt more calm and joyous.
It being my birthday and me craving more, I then ordered a tahini-maple latte and a red velvet cupcake using the just-as-beautifully designed app. The latte was life-changing, as I’ll now be adding tahini to my own as often as possible, and the cupcake made turning almost-thirty almost bearable.
I’m already thinking about returning next year just to eat here again. Getting to see the handsome men and beautiful sights of Barcelona once more would just be icing on...

I walked into Honest Greens with low expectations and a touch of skepticism— a gluten-free, vegetable-forward restaurant in the heart of Barcelona? It sounded more like a compromise than a craving.
I was wrong.
From the very first bite, Honest Greens didn’t just exceed expectations— it redefined them.
Every ingredient felt alive, as if it had been plucked from the earth only hours before. The vegetables were vibrant, seasonal, and impossibly fresh. The seasoning? Thoughtful. Subtle. Intelligent. Each dish carried a quiet confidence—never trying too hard, because it didn’t need to.
This was food with soul. Clean but rich. Simple but deep. Not a single element overwhelmed— everything worked in harmony, letting the natural flavors sing.
I didn’t miss the gluten. I didn’t miss the meat. What I did miss was a second stomach. Because once you start tasting food like this— food that feels both nourishing and indulgent— you don’t want to stop.
Honest Greens is proof that great cooking isn’t about complexity, but about integrity— about letting ingredients speak for themselves with a little help from chefs who clearly care.
Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Without hesitation.
Come hungry. Come curious. And leave, like I did, with a full belly and a humbled heart.
Rating: 5/5 — Superb. Clean....
