Place is nice and clean, close to everything, its biggest plus is its history but i have several negative points It is not authentic Neapolitan pizza by any standards and it is not registered with the AVPN, which has strict requirements on the ingredients but that they should take in consideration. Sauce is not fresh, it is not san Marzano either, they use standard pasta sauce in the pizza which has a different flavor profile and it lacked salt too. Cheese is not of the greatest quality either, they used standard mozzarella. Toppings were used sparingly so you wont really have enough of whatever you chose in your pizza, even more so considering the price you are paying Prices are kind of ridiculous, I would get paying 14~20 euros on a pizza like this in the United States, but here it is unreasonable, mostly considering that if you go a few blocks down and get a WAY better pizza for 6.90€ Service is below average, they took 30 minutes to notice me and went “oh, whoop” before they took my order, which i admit, came out fast but it was the same issue with checkout with me standing waiting for someone to show up so i could pay and they were making faces the entire time
TLDR: Pizza is not worth it, service is subpar, you are paying for the history/name of the place, which even so it is more of a tourist catcher destination than...
Read moreMy pizza was ok, nice fresh cheeses and the dough was ok. Serious problems with the service though. Came in alone, half the tables were empty. After 10 minutes looking at the menu, another couple came and sat on the next table. After another 10-15 mins wait (no problem), the couple next to me had their orders taken. They took mine next, so, no big problem. After a really long wait (maybe 25 mins) the couple next to me recieved their food. Lots of staff cleaning tables and sitting new customers down. After another 15 minutes, when the next couple had half-finished, I was ready to leave hungry without any food. Suddenly my food landed on my table and the waiter dissappeared with hardly a word. After finishing, I was told that my table and the next couple share the same number so there was some confusion. They seem to be so focused on moving customers that they forget to serve the ones they have - no wonder they need tables. If they could just serve people on time then they would have all the tables they needed... obviously! Clean inside (including the bathroom) but very basic ambience i.e, almost none. Except eat, pay, leave. Pizza was thankfully ok but not the best even within this barrio; if it was a bit cheaper I'd recommend for casual food but that isn't what they are aiming for, I feel. Maybe a better choice to...
Read moreMy partner and I had been recommended this place by a friend and were hoping for a decent food experience after having some bad experiences on our previous holiday. This place did not disappoint, the maître d’ was so warm and welcoming from the get go, I cannot compliment her service enough. As it is also my final day in my 20’s which she didn’t even know she made us feel really special which is not very common to find. One of the chefs even came down to our table for feedback on his dessert he had been working on which is so refreshing. I am also a pastry chef and really respected his want to better his product but to be honest his Cannolo was already very good the shell was crisp and the filling not overly sweet. The pizza dough was one of the best I have had and paired with the buttery fior de latte had me eating past the point of fullness. My partner and I both work as chefs and both thoroughly agree that this is the place where chefs would go for food, who are looking for something delicious and fuss free. How there wasn’t a queue out the door...
