I very rarely rate with 5. I consider 5 to be an exceptional service, not a fancy one. So a luxurious place is not a 5 by design and by defect for me, whereas an old-time local place with old-fashioned seating and a shabby atmosphere might be a 5 if the service is really outstanding. I consider a 3 rating a good service with the minimum professionalism, infrastructure and requirements necessary for the business to even be worth of being called a business. I consider a 4 a very good service, although not exceptional.
La Taqueria, under these criteria, is a 3 rating for me. The food is good and the service flows, the atmosphere is one of typical imitation of a mexican cantina, without the real original ambience of a real mexican cantina. The tables have linoleum covers, which are very typical and old-fashioned and adds some colourfulness to the setting.
The staff is quite friendly and nice and relaxed and curtous but sometimes they seem too relaxed and not very attentive to whats going on on the food hall.
The food is good, we tried tacos and nachos and guacamole and quesadillas and everything was good and tasty, but then again if you love mexican food that's the basic requirement. Read moreHonestly there wasn’t much of Mexico in the dish. I ordered a sort of pork tacos al pastor knowing what it is. The meet should be shredded and instead it looked like a sort of sausage. While pineapple is one of the ingredients of al pastor, here it was an option. Instead it was done with a lot of cheese which normally it’s not part of “al pastor”. Read moreEl comedor con el aire acondicionado parado, teniendo en cuenta q estamos en Barcelona a las 22h a 27 grados y 68% de humedad, no os voy a contar la sensación que tienes antes de empezar ya a comer aunque sea sin picante. Algún cliente abría la puerta y volvían a cerrarla. Solo funcionaba un aire tipo doméstico que estaba dirigido a la barra. Hemos empezado con un plato de nachos que para q entendáis las raciones, era para 4 y el plato era igual de llano que una tortilla a la francesa. Los tacos te llenan gracias a la harina. Poco relleno, nada de salsas ni jugosos, más bien secos. El taco veggie llevaba judía tierna hervida (no lo indicaba en la carta) y como podéis imaginar, la judía hervida suelta toda el agua que no se ha escurrido antes. Tenía el plato lleno de agua. Los tacos con carne aracHera estaban secos, sin ninguna salsa, como un bistec hecho a la plancha y cortado a tiras. Con algún Trocido por encima de adorno de cebolla y unas medidas muuuuy escasas. Y un detalle que no he entendido y no me ha gustado nada es que cuando pides agua la tienen envasada en latas???? Como?? No estamos intentando disminuir el plástico? Como te sirven el agua envasada en una lata que tiene impreso el texto de si bebes agua que sea del grifo??? Por que no nos sirven directamente el agua del grifo o sino con botella de cristal!?!?
