Lilo Brunch | Enric Granados — Restaurant in Barcelona

My wife and I to go for a brunch to celebrate my birthday today... Well, a brunch at 9AM isn't really a brunch, but what we had can't be called a breakfast either, can it?...😜 Anyway, nowadays, there are lots of brunch venues in Barcelona, but very few open early enough not to lose the whole day of work. Luckily, on my to-do list, there was Lilo Brunch, which not only opens early but also accepts bookings. Well, I'm not sure they actually take the bookings in account at breakfast time because when we arrived they were not aware of mine. Luckily, there still was a table for 2... What's fun with Lilo is that they have huge Teddy bears seating at each table, and they have a large terrace... but in winter at 9AM it's not very useful 😉 The venue itself is very small and their tables are very small but that was fine for us. What was less fine was the door that remained opened the whole time: that's me after 15 minutes 👉 🥶 We shared a açaí bowl and some pancakes and @estefaniasort ordered like a 1.000 drinks for herself 😜 Everything looked A-ma-zing, which created huge expectations. Unfortunately, the açaí in the bowl was kind of insipid, but the rest (granola, fruits, etc.) was very good. And I don't know what to think about the pancakes... the dish is called "caramelized bananas" and I thought they were banana pancakes. That's not the case at all: they’re pancakes with caramelized bananas. The bananas are amazing, the vegan caramel is original but... I don't know what to think about the pancakes. It seems they were not real pancakes, but pancakes made of banana... otherwise they were not cooked enough... Anyhow, that's not what I expected, and I didn't like them so much. But, at least, you can’t find the same pancakes next door. Overall affordable (€8-13 per dish) and very nice staff.

Had the most amazing time here! We came for the eras tour menu (wildest dream iced latte and lover iced latte with added shots of espresso) and left feeling like we’re in our fearless, 1989, lover, and all the happy eras 🥰 the caramelized banana pancakes were delicious and the clubhouse waffle was so yummy, the mix of danish cheese and fluffy eggs and cilantro mayo will live in my head rent free for the next couple of months. And to top it all off, Miguel took amazing photos of us and hyped us up our whole meal!! Can’t forget the best brunch partner, Mr. Bear (and of course my bestie Lia) 🧸🫶 Definitely a must visit if you’re adventuring through passeig de gracia/universitat area!
