Mabi — Restaurant in Barcelona

Avoid if you don’t want to be disappointed with bad Spanish tapas. I had octopus a la Galicia which I have had in Barcelona before, and in many other places in Spain … this had a weird taste, chewy beyond the usual softness and also cut super tick with some nerves and grey tentacles . I started not like the taste (if it can be called this way) and consistency and just tried to eat the potatoes that usually come with it with paprika . These were ok. But definitely not a tapas worth over 19 eur. When I asked for the bill and mentioned I was disappointed with it and showed the all octopus left, the manager said he was from Galicia and the octopus is exactly what they served me plus he tasted it and found it good. Not an apology, not a single euro discount or any kind gesture .. terrible customer service and terrible restaurant! Also, sorry to think a real Spanish thinks that dish was good, because I had very good octopus a la Galicia and this one was definitely not...

3.4 for a restaurant is a pretty bad mark, I'd say, but I gave it a chance and had lunch here.

I don't know about dinner, but lunch was incredible.

Very well cooked food: paella was delicious and the rustic chicken breast full of flavour and very juicy. Service was good too, kind waiters and fast as a lightning.

It seems like reviewers are afraid to put 5 stars to this place, maybe because they don't offer fancy dishes with complicated names, or they do big portions, or the service is too fast...

For me this is the kind of restaurant that makes me feel like home, not leaving me hungry, as I said everything excellently cooked and performed. And anything that makes me feel this way should have the highest mark. Please...

I have been vegetarian for over 10 years. I ordered vegetarian paella and specified multiple times that there was absolutely no meat in the dish. I took one bite and I knew there was for sure seafood (and once I looked also pork) in the dish. I immediately started crying and the waiter couldn’t care less. He took the tray and said “oops we will make another one” and I said no I can’t eat anymore as I’m obviously crying. He then avoided our table for half an hour until we asked for the bill.
