First & foremost, let me start by saying that I am not the type of person who leaves written reviews.
However, after coming to this place for almost five years, I probably should leave a review - it's the least I could do after all the laughs, priceless memories & lifelong friends that this place has given me.
If you are someone visiting Barcelona (or new to the city) and you're reading this review to decide whether it's a good place for a memorable night out - I can tell you, without hesitation, that it is.
During the day, it is a cozy place for a nice relaxing lunch with great service. At night, it slowly transforms around 22:00 into one of the highest energy places in the city.
You will undoubtedly make several new friends from all over the world. It is a pleasant mix of locals that have moved to the city from all corners of the planet, as well as travelers in town for just a few days. If you are the latter, this is a great place to come early on your trip, as you will surely find locals to give you recommendations for the remainder of your stay.
Also, this is the only place that I have found in my many years living here that always has a "buzz" and great crowd every day of the week. Of course the weekends get a lot busier, but you are guaranteed to find people enjoying the music & cocktails every night of the week.
Lastly, and most importantly, Mr Robinson is much more than a bar or restaurant. It is more like a "community". When you're here, you genuinely get an accurate glimpse into what Barcelona is all about - friends that turn into family, a night out that turns into memories that you will never forget. And, the single most important reason for that is the staff.
The team that works at Mr Robinson make every person feel like they are a regular. They are quick with the cocktails, but even quicker to join singing or dancing along with the customers. Marsida, specifically, is the one who always sets the tone, brings even more life to the nights and might be the one who is smiling more than any of the customers...and all the other staff follow the standard that she sets.
I really cannot recommend this place enough. So many times, I hear of tourists that make the wrong decisions on where to go out while in Barcelona - I hope this review can help even just a few avoid this problem in the...
Read moreSo we wandered past this place just after arriving in Barcelona and thought we'd pop in for a drink just because we were waiting to go somewhere else.... 2 hours and 200 euros later and we were having the best time ever ha ha. The cocktails in this place are simply amazing, and the mixologists were amazing fun. The guys Enzo, Matteo and Albaro made us feel so welcome, we actually had a really good laugh with them. We would have stayed there all night if we didn't need to be somewhere else but we also went back the next night too where they had some brilliant live music. Highlights on the menu were the USA, the Japan and the Cuba which was a kind of smokey cocktail but everything we tried was excellent! You MUST go here and spend some time enjoying the company, the atmosphere and above...
Awful attention. It isn't possible nore logical to treat regular customers like me and my friends this way they did today. Unacceptable that although we were sitting in the terrace for more than an hour and a half, with cold temperatures and when we wanted to come in, they would y let us. Then they close the terrace and literally tell us to leave. The doorman Adrian was very rude and with a terrible attitude. Felt discriminated by him. Never going here again and will never recommend it...
